  • Morning all, I have been ttc since Jan im 29 and married but being the main bread winner has meant having to put off having children. Me and dh are emigrating in a matter of weeks which means we will be in a better position finacially for me to take a step back and have dh be the breadwinner.
I started to look at my monthly cycles as soon as I stopped taking the pill as i have been on it for over 10 years. Charting my cycle really helped me to get to know my body again and understand it!
I was a few days late last week so did 2 tests both bfn but still no af, my third test was bfp which was a relief just to know what my body was doing!

Hard thing now is to tell the family which has experienced 2 tragic losses already this year and now I am emigrating away it feels a bit cruel to put light into my mums life only to take away her grandchild to be.

Its wonderful news that I struggle to contain but don't know whether to tell before I go or after when it might be easier?

May I first say congrats on your BFP:T

I've been TTC since December (and am 35 so tick tick) and similar things have been going through my head, following a couple of really sad years in my family (although I am not emigrating) But I think that if it's something that will make you and DH so happy and complete your life, then your family will support that.

It may be difficult given the circumstances, but I'm sure your mum would be happy for you and would prefer to know. She has a few weeks to fuss around you, and then with international IT and phones, she can still fuss from afar

I think you should tell her (if its early stages then maybe not everyone else) and give her something positive to think about as sounds like she needs it. Then you can get on and enjoy the next 9 mths and beyond too. Good Luck

Wow, what a weekend, congrats CatoWoman!! and glittery cloud, what fantastic news.

With regards to telling people glittery, I would take Cadrickerry's advice :)

Well my weekend was interesting, my best friend came to visit me and announced that she is nearly 9 wks pg!! She started ttc in Jan, so was successful in Feb!!! I am thrilled for her, but have had three phonecalls and a number of texts asking advice!

She did wait to tell me when we were face to face as she was worried about how i would feel. I am thrilled for her and her husband, but yes i am a little gutted as i was hoping to be a bit further along by now! This is my 10th cycle and we have not been able to be as active as we had hoped. Oh well, i am on CD20 of 29, so lets see what happens.

Oh i got more good news another one of my friends got engaged yesterday (both girls were bridesmaids :) )

I am still keeping my fingers crossed for you nunny, and am thrilled to hear your news kencokenco, i really hope it all goes well :)

Right well quite a busy day, so should get on!

Very sticky baby dust to all :)

I have only been away sleeping and come back and fine another BFP! So many congrats to glitterycloud, you lucky thing and I also agree with Leopardlady about Cedrickerry's advice.

I do appreciate how difficult it might be for some of us to deliver the news to family, circumstances never seem to be perfect, do they?! If I am ever lucky enough to join the BFP club I will then have to face up to telling my sister, who lost her much wanted unborn baby in the most horrible way. I kind of dread when that day arrives, but know that she would also be able to join in with my joy and would end up being a great support to me. We tend to always fear the worst, but people always surprise us and families are great as rising to the challenge, so don't worry yourself too much and end up blowing it out of proportion. Fingers crossed for you and then some xx

Nunnygirl - ooohhh!!!! Here's hoping for you - next post you make might just be worth fireworks :rotfl:

    Afternoon everyone,
What a weekend we've had on here. Congrats to everyone who got there bfp's:j.
I woke up last night with really bad period pains, the worst i've had in years, so was shocked when af never came AGAIN. I'm now on cd56 or 57 (i've lost count:rolleyes:) Heartburn is still giving me trouble and still feeling really groggy. Did another test this morn just to make sure (even tho i knew it was gonna be a bfn).
Fingers crossed for you nunnygirl, i hope you get your bfp.
Hopefully i'll eventually get my af soon so i can start planning next month;)

Nickynoo, that sounds like a long time to me - hope AF comes soon so you can get to CD1 again!

I am now on CD25 of usually 27 and I feel absolutely shattered. I don't SS at all usually, but I was mightily cranky a day or so again and that went but since then I am tired all the time (yawning and yawning) so don't know what is causing that! Hard to be back at work like this today!
