Hi girls. I've been lurking here for last month, I'm on my second month of TTC. (Day 14, plenty of BDing at the moment.) However, I'm feeling a bit sad/worried/selfish and just wanted to rant to people that might understand. Is that ok?

One of my very close friends has never wanted kids, always said if she got pregnant she would have a termination etc etc. She was really taking the p*** about us TTC. She isn't very happy with her partner, and 2 weeks ago I had a conversation with her where she said she is so unhappy, (v long story) said she can't see her future with him. I have to say, he is very hard work.

She now told me today that she is pregnant. No contraception even though didn't want children!? I felt so worried for her because of all she said and also because I don't think he'll give her the support she needs. She doesn't know what to do, whether to have the baby etc.

I didn't feel I could be positive about her being pregnant in light of everything I know but know that I need to be a supportive friend whatever she decides. But then I now feel awful and am worried that somewhere deep down my view is tainted because I wish it was me that were pregnant.

Feel like a complete cow whatever I say!

    Hi Reverie,

I know exactly how you feel. We've been wanting to try for a family since April 2007 but haven't been able to until last summer because of a tumour so we're desperate for a baby. Anywhere our friends all know the situation because we told them why we hadn't had a family yet after everyone kept asking! Befoe xmas a friend of dh's announced she was pregnant, had always said she never wanted kids, was on the pill but still got pg. We went out for a meal and had to spend the entire evening listening to how she wishes "everyone would stop talking like it's a good thing as she's still not sure!"
I just had to bite my tongue but it is really unfair.

Yes you can, apparently quite a lot of pregnancies ( cant remember percentage)end in miscarriage and are never diagnosed because it just looks like a late period.

Can this be also the case where period has been early?
love my little man he is amazing :j
  • Evening ladies,

Sorry, it's taken me so long to get on here.

I was so keeping my fingers crossed for you Helen, big hug to you. Hayley do you think you should go to the docs, maybe you have some sort of bug that's making you feel sick all the time?

There is always someone who has to pi** in your pool isn't there, Reverie. Try to rise above it. It will happen for you.

I decided to wait until Monday to retest to give the pregnancy hormone more time to kick in and the test to show quicker.

Thank you all for your good wishes and try and have a lovely, relaxing weekend with lots of BDing!

    Sticky baby dust,

Hi :hello: Congrats Ruth, glad you got a definite BFP :D

Well my AF arrived last night :( I was bit disappointed at first, I hate my stupid body for giving me false symptoms and my stupid mind for believing them :o I'm okay now though, i'm going to get this AF out the way, have a lovely break next week with my mum and then come back and BD like there's no tomorrow :rotfl:

Sticky baby dust to all :D

Hayley, Im in same position as u now then. We could be cycle buddies :j Im on cd2 now, still bleeding but still isn't the period Im used to..WARNING TMI.....Its not even bright red,it dark brown mixed with abit of dark red, and looks slimy and lumpy YUCK! I can't wait to get it finished with so I can get BDing. Im wondering if somehow my body is aware of me ttc so it's having a clear out (the brown stuff being old blood) first  I hope so! Well,Im feeling positive about cycle 2 (caught on with DS in cycle2)

Good luck everyone still trying xx

Ooh I always wanted my very own cycle buddy :j Ah don't worry about the TMI, I don't think anything is TMI on this thread :rotfl:When I came on last night it was quite a dirty brown but then it went quite pink. Don't know what it's like now coz I wear tampons through the day.

I'm on cycle four now, going to try extra hard this month to BD more, we are very lazy sometimes :o

My OH has just said he's heard that drinking Lucozade and eating bananas lowers your sperm count? Is he talking rubbish? He drinks loads of Lucozade  I've told him he's got to start taking Zinc tablets, is that the best thing for him to take?
 Think happy & you'll be happy

  • Can I be a cycle buddy too, I'm also on CD2? Was gutted when AF arrived but feeling a bit more positive now. Congratulations to all the BFP's. Hope to be joining you on the pregnancy thread soon.
