I can see something there but personally I'd wait a few days before testing again so that it should be more definate. If I tested again in the morning and it was still faint....I'd do another one....and another one...until it was definate so I'd rather wait and cut out the tests in the middle and go for the definate one.

    but thats just me :D

Thanks everyone, but it is not meant to be... My temp dropped from the cliff this morning and I feel AF coming. I did another test, and the line is much less visible, so I think it is not going to be true. If AF doesn't appear until the weekend, I'll do another test, but to be honest - I am sure she will be here before lunchtime!

Oh well, it was the first time I saw a line like this at all, so it is a progress of some sorts isn't it? I am tempted to forget all the charting for the next month, especially as we are going to be at in laws for the whole 2 weeks of Christmas, and start fresh after new year. This new cycle probably finish with the last day at in-laws, so we can restart once we are back in UK with the visit to doctor to find out what could be stopping us - cycle 17 is just about to start.

    Hi peeps,

Thought I'd pop in as I've not really been around for a few days - seems we have a few newbies, so hello to them!

I'm on cd6, and wondering if I can muster the energy to SMEP again this month. I have to admit it's hit me quite hard that it didn't work last month (plus af was worse this month than it has been in quite a while - I've felt absolutely exhausted for days).

Think we've decided to give it 'one last month' and then see the doc, as it's so close to Christmas.

Hope everyone is ok - any news from the rest of the SMEP team?

    AnnieM x

    Hi Annie,

I'm now 14dpo but holding off testing until Friday (cheated on Monday night and got a BFN), AF was due yesterday and will probably be here this afternoon.

Not sure I'm going to try the SMEP plan again in December if I get a BFN as it took all the fun out of bd.

Hope you have better luck this month.

Hi G - You're probably right, and I don't want to raise any false hopes, but I had AF-like pains when I conceived - I also had bleeding that I was convinced was AF, but was actually implantation bleeding.

I also did an HCG test like yours, with the 2 lines and one was REALLY faint. So I cracked open a nice expensive Clearblue test - and the result was unambiguous.

Good luck - I hope you get there soon!
  • AND in the early days, the darkness of the line is determined by how concentrated your pee is, so you coulod get a darker or paler line depending on time of day and how much liquid you've drunk.

Thanks chickpea, and I can assure you won't raise any false hopes - I have plenty of those myself. Never thought we would have any problems conceiving, but hey - it is not meant to be easy for everyone! I am glad we didn't tell our parents and friends that we are trying, so there are no awkward questions of are we there yet. No one in my famile had any problems to conceive as far as I know. But they were all younger than me, at least with the first child (my mum had my sister - her 3rd child when she was my age).

Well, I think I will hid the thermometer and the OPKs for the next month and enjoy my life dor a bit longer before seeing GP...

Sorry, but isn't it a bit late for implantation bleed 2 weeks after ov? I thought that was more likely to happen at 7-10 days past ov?

Again - you may be right, my maths and awareness of my own cycle was never great!

I had my last CD1 on 17 May. On 2-4 June, I had what I though was a really early period (it was actually OV bleed). On 18 June, I did a test (having no reason to believe i was not half-way through a cycle) and got the BFP. I bled later that day, and on and off for the next four weeks with implantation bleeding. (I never stopped being afraid it was a m/c, but it wasn't).

I've had AF-like pains on and off during the whole pg.

The annoying thing with your cycle and the bleeding is that it doesn't always do what it's supposed to.

I really wish you luck - I know exactly what you're feeling, as it took me 3 years to get a BFP!
