  • Squishy, I have peach upside-down cake baking in the oven as we speak – it’s our favourite pudding here J Love it all hot with evaporated milk…

    Jet77 – congratulations!!! What a brilliant achievement!!
Anniestar, so glad you are enjoying the shows, just tune out to H having a moan… you must be shattered?!
Betheebee, it was Citizen Smith, but I don’t remember much about it (must look up when it was on cos I’m sure I was only young!) EDIT: should read the rest of the thread before posting, lol – thanks to the others who knew!
D&DD – aww, I’m so glad the kids enjoyed the party. Sometimes it’s the simple things that bring them the most pleasure.
Taplady, your poor friend, hope she gets sorted out very soon.

My pudding must be nearly done, then I am going to search some online databases to do some research for my dissertation subject while watching TV. Felt so sorry for poor Jessie tonight L I Sky+ Strictly now, then make a cuppa while it’s getting started – and then I can fast-forward through the excruciatingly embarrassing Brucie bits!!!!

    Evening all,

Been for a nice walk today 8 miles, little dog is very tired, we stopped on top of a hill over looking a beautiful little village and had a picnic lunch it was lovely, and soooo hot.

Got two loads of washing almost dry on the line, its just a bit damp so its on the airer now. Had summer in winter chicken for tea, which was yum, and I treated myself to a box of chocs, half price in somerifeld, and we have eaten the first layer :D

Just watching x factor now, think I will have an early night, after my late one last night, and I have chronic heartburn, which is really painfull.

Taplady, hope your friend is ok xx

    Have good evenings all xx

    Evening all :)

Beth that's great - well done for standing your ground (well, hole!) :rotfl:
Jet - wow! what a great thing to do - well done for raising so much cash :)

I'm at work *again* but I'm just trying to get some odd bits finished off so Dr jeckyll can't rant at me when I'm on holiday. I feel oddly liberated with no thesis now - I've also apparently broken the department record for the length of the document.

OH told me that we're going to Estonia on Monday morning.

Right - have to get sorted then go home and try to make the flat look a little less like a bomb site. Our house guest went to look at a flat but said he wants to move closer to us; which is highly daft given that we live near OH's work, not mine (where he's starting on Monday) so he'd be better off living in the other side of town; where it is cheaper and a nicer area as well. Plus as much as I like him, he's very needy so I really could do without him being around constantly. *sigh*

have a good evening adn hugs to those that need them :) cel x

    Good evening all

A mixed day chez Morwenna - saw DSis for about an hour today, she has now moved away so she is nearer her daughters so it was odd to see her for so little time. The flat she has moved to doesn't take pets so her cats are here. There are now five cats here  I don't really mind, but it's a bit of a culture shock, not least for my own two puddpeople.

She has given me an early Christmas present, Nigella's Christmas :D I do enjoy Nigella's cookbooks and have them all and as DSis is planning an extended stay (her health permitting) over the festive season, I assume this is a type of "insurance" that I will be cooking up a storm. As if I need any encouragement in that department. I love cooking for people, especially if it's an "occasion."

Anyway, the rest of the day dragged along. I'm not very used to having no-one to talk to - DS was at his mates and so was DD2. DD1 moved out some time ago. Practise for "empty nest" perchance?

    Hi

Been away for a while, moved house again. Twice this year, taken it's toll healthwise.

Went away this week which was great, feel refreshed for the change of scenery and the weather was gorgeous. The trees are turning a lovely colour.

My only gripe is I came across a lot of rude shop assistants in central Bristol. The hotel we stayed at was good tho:)
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:

    Good evening!:hello:

Well, I'd hoped to tell you all about our trip to the Knitting and Stitching Show...sadly I can't, as we didn't go. My legs just don't want to do much walking this week:rolleyes: It's a shame, but maybe next year.

We're off to Cornwall tomorrow so DH has started packing. He usually sees to the clothes (I put mine on the bed and he packs them) and I make sure we've got all the extras like washing-up liquid etc. :D At least we haven't got to get up at 5 a.m. to catch a ferry!

I haven't read the rest of the thread yet but will catch up after "Casualty"!

((((HUGS)))) to everyone, and "Welcome Back" to CCStar!

See you all when we get home.

    Best wishes

redruby and squiggly - thanks for your concern over my friend - she is home again and they think it is a bad case of IBS so have given her some different drugs. still not sure about the ulcer. she's to go back to the doctors on monday. They think its stress related but she is feeling relieved that she hasn't got to stop in hospital.

CCStar- great to see you back again!:hello:

    Evening everyone,

Diva - The site has behaved itself for me the last ten mins or so that i`ve been on but earlier it was doing the same to me.

Ivyleaf - Have a wonderful holiday in Cornwall, my DSis is there atm and she says the weather is glorious.

Taplady - Glad to hear your friend is home safe and sound, hope that she gets the ulcer treated soon.

I`m sort of half watching telly and half on here, i am waiting for some soup to cool a bit before blitzing it but it may end up being done in the morning before i go to w*rk  hope that i`m up early enough.

Meanwhile back at the bat cave my G&T is looking after me :D

Cheers guys, have a good night.
    See you all tomorrow.
