  • On Wednesday I opened an unpaid item dispute - sale had been done on 13th December and I had sent 2 emails to her with no response. I've now gone to look at her profile and it says that this person is no longer a registered user - although she had been a member since 2006 and had a 100% rating ......... ?????

Is it now OK for me to give a second chance offer to someone

I don't think you can anymore. It looks like the new system means you wait the full 4 days like all other buyers.

  • Yes - got my fees back immediately - wish I'd checked her out earlier - though she appears to have a good record and feedback is always positive towards her.
Thought I might have had to wait a few days before fees were refunded but Ebay did it immediately - almost as if she was already unregistered before I opened up the case !!!

Floxxie, you can't cancel a sale, do you mean you've offered the buyer a mutal cancellation? If so you do know they can refuse and you'd get to pay your FVFs still.

Set your seller preferences to exclude bidders from countries you do not ship to and then make sure you close all international shipping and payment options except in the UK. Many people set their preferences but forget that ebay picks up your last lot of auction templates by default, so you probably had international shipping still ticked in one of the two places., Whilst you are setting your preferences for that block people with 2 or more strikes as well as that can weed out a few troublemakers, and we can all do without those.

Thanks Soolin. That's really messy isn't it?
Polish buyer is telling me that they can supply a UK address but I would rather pay the fees. They haven't paid yet and I'm not sure they can either as I don't have the option for them to put in their own postage (at least I don't think I do ).
I'm not sure what I did...clicked a box to say that the buyer wanted item shipping to a country I don't ship to. I then relisted and another buyer came along and paid. Did get another email from Polish buyer to tell me that item does work abroad (although on a Google search, it states several times that this item does not work outside the UK).

I'm not going to communicate with them anymore.

Thanks JesaRose for advice on how to add the new thread - I tried it and of course couldn't get it to work ;)
