I would email them to inform them that they have been ongoing strikes around the country that have affected the delivery of post. I had a book go missing on its way to Belgium. The person emailed me after 10 days and I told him about the strikes. He wanted to wait as he needed the book more than a refund and sure enough it turned up a couple of weeks later.

I have actually stoppped selling on eBay, Amazon etc. due to the postal mess. I am going to put some large items on this weekend that can be sent via courier or can be picked up but otherwise I am going to wait; that has to be better than dealing with disgruntled buyers.

  • Thanks - most of the items I have on at the moment are either collection only or a big enough to warrant using a courier. I may well come to the same decision as you about smaller items until the current dispute is over - either that or send recorded and pass the cost on (where e-bay haven't insisted on free postage that is!).

On the plus side the carpet fund is doing well, as long as I resist temptation to buy anything. Ebay have sent me a 10% off voucher which expires tonight, and I must admit I'm tempted to use it on some underlay.

    :hello:Hi guys!

Right, I have been majorly decluttering my life and have lots of things I need to sell on Ebay, and as near to £305.06 to make as possible this month. I don't know if my stuff will be worth anywhere near this, but I'm [strike]daft[/strike] brave enough to give it a try!* Wish me luck! :)

*I got paid today (technically yesterday), so I'm counting 'November' as today until 21st November.

    I need help!!!
Maybe Soolin may be around ???
Sorry about this! I am a private seller (just selling all my old stuff!) Anyway this is where I need help, I sold a pair of trainers, it says on my listing that I don't accept returns, anyway I listed that they were a size 4 as per what it says inside the trainer, but I put on the listing that I was a size 5 & they fit me.so I would say that the size isn't running true!! but I am happy to answer questions. Anyway the person recieved the items says they are too big as they are a 4 & wants a refund for the item plus the p&p for buying & sending back!! What do you think is the best way forward!!!

    Thanks
    G

Hi gingababe, if you have stated that clearly in your listing then the buyer has no come back. If you do decide to accept a return then they have to pay for return trackable postage; you refund the original cost and original postage.

Just trying to decide what to do with my books now - am going to work out if it is worth putting on eBay for a BIN price.

Might even get some listings done later ;)

  • managed 20 new listings today along with 23 relists

My 13 year has been really ill with the dreaded swine flu, but thankfully we have turned the corner I think, so hoping to get some more things sorted.
  • Hi

Not been around for a week or so, haven't really done many listings. Have had to stop listing my comics due to the free postage so I'm keeping them but it has reduced my total listings from over 100 down to 48.

Eldest two girls are away at my parents until Tuesday so am hoping to get lots listed before they come back (we are sorting out so should find lots). Didn't get much sorting done today as I spent most of the day in bed with a bad headache which started yesterday morning.

Am hoping to be listing daily again soon.

Tmd hope your feeling better! I still havnt done anything with my vinal so it's going in car boot with some bagged up charity bits then off to the charity shops with it me thinks! The kids room is done but made the mistake of leaving the stuff for eBay on sofa so it's now being played with like new grrrrr so my room and the loft to go.... Think I'll take half term off then start fresh in November!
