  • Done my 3 tonight and am just about to do another 4, sold a few things today which I'm waiting payment for. I'm now back up to 106 items still listed, will be 110 later when I've uploaded these. Still trying to list as much as possible.

Just wondering if anyone has had parcels go missing? I have had 3 in the last two weeks, one was £17 including postage which I have had to refund so not happy about that and it was only going 4/5 miles away from where I live and was in a bright pink mailing bag.

Got to print all the correspondence off and send off a claim for it - what a pain!!

I'm going to be sending most things 2nd Recorded just so I can check if an item definitely goes missing as I wonder whether some people might say their items haven't arrived so they get a refund and get to keep the goods (very sceptical I know) but it seems strange.

  • ^That's terrible, you should complain to RM as it might be that other things have gone missing in your area but they need a few complaints before they'll investigate it.

I love reading this thread... but don't have enough motivation or stuff left to join in! :S Plus with ebay fees being 40p now, it doesn't seem worth it unless it's a high value item that I'm selling. Nevertheless I'll keep reading :) Good luck all.

Yes I've had parcels disappear - some of them obviously hadn't (e.g. checking the feedback and found she had bought two of the same item a day apart but mine was more expensive). There's absolutely no point sending by recorded delivery though as Paypal only accept Special Delivery as evidence of goods received. RD costs you more and often there is no signature even though item has been rec'd . Just send it by normal (unless over £36 in which case use SD). If it gets lost fill in the paperwork, print off the eBay info and send it off. I would advise you to try and get the buyer to wait a while (I had two 2nd class items that took 2 weeks to be delivered), otherwise just refund in full and put a claim in. (for those who haven't experienced it before!)

Make sure everybody is getting a proof of postage from the Post Office - you need this to put in a claim.

Good morning, just popping in to see how people are doing and as it is so quiet you are all either at work, busy listing or in hiding!

I'm off to La Tasca today and taking the children courtesy of Mr T - the vouchers have to be used by Friday. At least if we don't use them we can return them to Mr T and get the points readded.

Will be back later as this afternoon I am hitting the listing big time (hopefully).

  • I've so far managed to get 8 magazines listed. 2 have bids on already and I have another 4 with watchers. I really didn't think there would be any interest in them at all!!

I'm off work today so after tackling the National Ironing Mountain, i'll be back to list a few more.

    Thanks Floxxie

I thought I would do 2nd Rec so that I could check if someone said the item didn't arrive, I hate not knowing if they are being honest or not, I'm putting the postage as seller's standard rate and will be sending Recorded so they won't know it is coming recorded and see if anyone is trying it on. I think people are more likely to try it on now as money is tight for everyone, it is for me and I can't afford to lose money.

Just think, someone could do their whole Xmas shopping that way, buy toys for the kids, get goods, say it didn't arrive if posted by 1st or 2nd class, get refund and get goods. I'm sure some people will try it on, I couldn't do that though, say I'd not received something when I had.

Got to sort out my 3+ for listing today so back down the Annex later to see what other goodies I can find.

  • Well, I only managed to list one item yesterday as was really busy but am going to try and do some more tonight, I am off work next week so will have lots of spare time and planning a big clear-out of my loft!

I have watchers on several of my items now and bids on 6 so am pleased
  • Morning all,
after the sucess of my effortless ! private sale yesterday, I have listed my 10 remaining magazines. Am saving money by not buying too many at the moment.:rotfl:

I, too, have an item not received on ebay. It was the ONLY sale in a days nightmare listing that seemed to go according to plan - Oh well!
This item went first class with proof of postage and only 25 miles away and was a lovely item.
I will recommend that she files an item not received claim with paypal to get her money back from my account, and will then fill in the Royal Mail claim form which I printed off this morning. It has upset me, and didnt list on ebay yesterday.
Hey ho - today is a new day and all that.
The cave of clutter (dining room) is calling.
Hope that you are all having a good day, cheers, LHB
  • Does anyone have a link to the calculator thingy where you can work out how much (little!) profit you make once ebay and paypal fees are removed?
