Floxxie, thanks for taking action on this! Yes, I'm in - for 5 a day please. I've just got back from work, so I won't be doing any today, so I'll start tomorrow.
Thanks again!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Will update front page with new joiners later in the morning but welcome anyway! (thanks Karmacat for finding the post!). Well done to those who have managed to complete their target. I now have 10 listings with 0 bids but there is plenty of time yet.
If you are doing car boots or listing on other boards then include them as part of your target otherwise you might feel forced to use the dreaded eBay
I think Karmacat is using ebid (or was that hypno?). I have no experience in it so can't answer questions but would be interested to hear how people are getting on if they are using it.
Tomorrow is the proper weekend so put your listings on before going to pub/opening bottle/falling asleep etc. I might even list 20 items just in case I am nursing a hangover on Sunday :rotfl:and forget to complete my challenge.
Re Post Office problems - how about going in to see the Post Master/Mistress without parcels and seeing if you could come to an agreement. With my local PO they have suggested I bring the parcels in and leave them there and they will sort out postage when quieter and charge me when I come in next. I haven't taken them up on this yet (as I became very lazy and stopped ebaying) but think I might have another chat with them...
Just in case you are feeling demotivated (which is very likely to happen on several occasions during this challenge) then have an image or picture of what you are trying to achieve, whether it is space, money in the bank, money for a holiday. I could always add it onto the top post to remind you.
Time to open a well earned bottle of vino..catch up with you all tomorrow and if you didn't manage to complete the challenge today, there's always the next day!

Thanks Floxxie - yes, it was me that mentioned ebid. I haven't actually used it yet, just found it after I saw a mention on here, but it won an award as the best alternative to ebay in the summer. Like amazon, it only charges its fees once you've sold something, and I like the sound of that. Over this weekend, cos I'm doing a mystery shop and hopefully a matched bet, I'd just carry on listing my books on amazon for now.
The picture of what we're aiming for - well, *being* df would be nice! What I'm actually doing at the moment is putting everything I get thats extra into a separate account - when its up to £500, I'll pay another lump off the mortgage, since my loan is a weird one which I actually reclaim tax on. If things get really bad tho, I'll take back my mortgage overpayments and repay the loan all in one, since its a lot going out every month, and that would help more with the cashflow immediately. Hope that makes sense ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Can you put me down for 5 please
Going to try to list between Ebay and Amazon

Nyeh. Found the thread. Suppose I'd better sign up due to lack of an excuse not to. I'm going to go for the 10-a-day but not sure how! Thanks for the challenge Floxxie (I think - I'll probably be cursing you 10 times a day now forever more!). I disagree with your first post: you are NOT the least motivated person re Ebay, I am! And how do you find the time to get a hangover?!
From the posts above:
Border Collie - are your photos too big? I mean the file size in kb, not the actual inches measurement. If you use windows, click on the folder with the photos, then 'View' and 'Details'. If the numbers in the size column are over 1,000KB then that's probably the problem - ideally, depending on how detailled you need the photos to be, anything from 50 to about 400 is normal. If that's the case and you don't know how to fix it, just shout on here and someone can maybe help.
Re the Post Office: When I was big into Ebay, I used to drive past my local main one to a rural one where the staff were fab. They also did 'dump and run' - I left a credit card (set for full payment every month!) with PIN behind the counter and they did it all for me. You'd have to trust them for that, but a lot will let you leave a float or a blank cheque, or even let you pay the following day.
If you don't like the PO, and are sending larger items look at Parceltree.co.uk - you can send just about anything up to 30kg for £6.50 via DHL through them.
Good luck everyone!0 -
Wanted to wish you all luck with this one, when i tried to do one item a day i failed miserably. only lasted a week, i then gave my brother £20 to list items while i photoed them all day. not a bad investment really i made enough to cover all my christmas pressies and have a clutter free house. I dont envy those of you with 100's of things to list, have fun and think of the profit.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0
