Well I've made a start, I got 10 things listed from my bedroom, and one has already got a 99p bid, and the watching has started on other items. I tried 10 day listings, will be out carbooting for my stuff at the weekend, am only doing the listings in the week , as I love my family time at the weekend. So thats it , I have read this thread over and over, and I am totally inspired if you guys can do it than so can I and this time I'm gonna do it. After debt is cleared , never gonna get in the same situation again. Will update again next week, have a good weekend.xx:beer:0

Hi I used to do ebay to, done ok , not huge profit, I to was fed up with buyers saying not recieved the item, also paypal. But if I am gonna clear 23 k of secret debt, I am gonna get my a** in gear and do it. I am gonna scour the house , carboot , charity shops, everywhere. Just started today and listed 4 quality items. Do you think it is realistic to clear my debt in two years through ebay, love to know your thoughts, and if you guys make much. Thanks.:rotfl:
Hi fairyface, I used to do ebay a lot, never full time but used to have 150+ items up at a time. I know ebay has changed a lot since I started (about 10 years ago) and I've not been doing it in earnest for at least 3 years but the thing I found was to have lots of low cost items up with a couple of high price (over £10) items chucked in there along the way. I came up with a few things that seemed to sell well - I don't know if they still would. One of my biggest earners was the free magazines you get from sunday papers. I was lucky and could pick up two or three a week without having to buy them so anything they sold for was profit. I collected them all out of habit for a good few years and probably have somewhere int he region of 300+ magazines all stored in envelopes upstairs just waiting for me to get back in the ebay zone.
I guess I'm there now so I will start listing them, probably at 1p. If they sell, they sell. It always amazes me that, depending on who's in them, someone out there will want them. It's the celebrity culture we're living in I guess.
Anyway, I hope this has been of some help. Good luck. I think to reach your goal of £23k you would have to be looking at doing ebay pretty much full-time. If you hit on a good thing that sells a few each day for between £1-£5 though you would have a good chance of meeting your goal! Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I think 23k is achievable with a lot of time and effort put in - its possible. When I started as a hobby I made 8k in my first year selling loads of junk which I had accumulated and hoarded (as I do). That was just listing whenever I could, I had a job too. Well for the first two months I did not have a job, which is why I had to flog some of my things, but I carried on after I got a jobNot been here in years! Hi everyone. :mad:that french buyer hammered my dsrs too. The 30 day avs were all 5, and now Im down to 4.6 on p&p so she gave me a 1!.
I would have refunded her fully if she had let me know, and sent a photo. She buys at £1-3 , resells up to £50 and charges a masive £18 p&p:mad:
All my other sales have been perfect. I have 1 item with 26 watchers, 2 bids and 306 views!!!
Hope you are all having fun!
good luck fairyface - thats a large amount of effort!0 -
(Then perhaps its time to seek revenge LHB on her items?) Did I really write that? :rotfl:
Get selling now and your average will soon go up again. I had one buyer who gave me low DSRs because they had paid for standard parcel delivery and it had arrived in time but obviously not quick enough for her. I had even sent it out within an hour of her paying - gggrrrr.
fairyface, welcome to the gang.
sazzab thanks for giving me some hope. Now I just have to start listing again (I shall start once I get this weeks listings out of the way and yet another essay and 20 hours inputting work - my weekend jobs ).
I have so much stuff that has to go and I really am feeling overwhelmed. Have decided to focus on two rooms to clear (yep I did it again and brought stuff down to photo and list and haven't yet )
Anyway enough excuses from me. Well done on the selling everybody. Keep going..Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
I would go for the revenge bidding as well. She could always talk you out of not leaving her a neg if she changes hers
she might block you but not if you bid right in the last seconds and win - mwhahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa *evil laugh*

Oh what naughty ideas you have put inside my head...and there is me with a different posting id!!!!!:rotfl:
She has hammered other sellers too - both for p&p charges over £4!! and her posty is obviously not frinds with her - frequently damaged items.
If she had contacted me, I would have refunded as soon as she sent the doll back, then claimed from Royal Mail....
She is now a blocked bidder. I do have some similar items - given that than neutral sticks out like a sore thumb, should I list them together - about 10 mint, BNib character dolls and accessories, or individually.
They are not barbies, but are collectable.
I will get over it...I will get over it...I will get over it....
Must list later today....0 -
Hello I am a newbie, and would like to join the challenge, I have been ebaying since 2002, usually use my spends to buy more junk, however have a holiday coming up so going to hopefully use the cash for spending money and then my wages can be used to get some more debts cleared quicker (rather than having to save wages for spends) am I making sense !!! LOL2016 Sell £96/£1000
