An Old Style gesture of support for Martin

Just wanted to add my support for Martin and the MSE team, as you can see from my signature we've got a long way to go before being debt free but thanks to the info on the site i've saved money left, right and centre and we are able to comfortably afford to pay our debts instead of scraping around each month and being charged.
Like someone said earlier no-one forced anyone to do anything it is ultimately our decision what we do or don't do with our money - whether that be save it or borrow it - and we have to take responsibility for that.

I would like to add my support for Martin and the team. If I had not found MSE I dont even like to think where my family would be finacially. Thank you for all the advice given.
You should never have been spoken to the way you were with Jon Snow, that was unnaceptable.
I really hope you take some comfort in the threads around MSE that are supporting you and offer you some encouragement.I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like youwould like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing

Having just watched the interview...
Wow, Martin must have really pee'd off someone at C4. Probably a friend of Jon Snow's, otherwise I would never have thought Jon would be so rude and unprofessional by not even bothering saying the website name right. If I were an interviewer of any repute I wouldn't be having a go at someone over advice given a year ago!
b) I wonder how often Channel 4 news interviews wheelchair-bound people with speech impediments.
c) The other guest hadn't even invested any money on Martin's say so. (If he had, he'd only have £35k in one institution.
How on earth can a professional interviewer have a go at someone for advice given a year ago?! And then reply to the fact that Martin has since given warnings by saying "it doesn't matter when you started cautioning people"??
Going for Martin based on old information and bringing on a disabled person who may lose out (through nothing to do with ML) to make ML look like the devil incarnate is so much of a set up it's almost laughable.0 -
ps. my apologies for missing the point of the thread.Thank you
to Martin for starting this website. I've saved money, I've kicked a bank's !!! after they lied and made threats to me. It instils hope that the little person can stand up for themselves. It's helped me out of my depression and given me a new circle of friends.
Thank you.0 -
I have managed to save lots of money since I joined MSE and OS...I no longer buy anything without thinking long and hard about it and am very grateful to Martin and the MSE team for that. This holds true even though I live in Ireland where much of Martin's 'specific' information does not apply.
I didn't see the interview, obviously people who have made bad choices want somebody to blame and its Martin's turn to be the scapegoat...I gather that he is strong enough to ignore the stupidity of people who are never able to accept responsibility for their own mistakes.

Many thanks to Martin for starting this website - I've used its advice many times. The interview was poor but Martin did well - if anything Jon Snow looked a berk for his ignorance. Keep up the good work Martin and ignore the website warriors who only feel brave behind a keyboard.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

I didn't see the interview, so can't comment on that.
However I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Martin for the site's advice on getting my Council Tax band lowered and the £1,000 refund of overpayment.
Martin always issues warnings and it is up to us if we take his advice or not. Do the journalists in the news papers get criticised for their disastrous share tips? Or the news papers editors for allowing bank league tables of bank's interest rates to be published?
I am not in debt, but live on a small income and "every little bit helps"
This site encourages ordinary people to share this tips and bargains, as well as Martin's professional advice.
Keep up the good work Martin, this site has helped millions of people in many ways.0 -
Thank you Martin and team for being a great source of both inspiration and advice. You have saved us lots of money so far!0

I didn't see the interview and I havben't seen the negative posts on here at all but I for one can only say thankyou for the advice and support that I've received here. Without MSE I would not have found Quidco or Pigsback or any of the survey sites that I use to save me a relative fortune!
I don't follow all the advice here as some of it isn't relevant but before I follow any advice here I research it elsewhere first. If others don't then I can't see how that is remotely the fault of Martin or the site. I see this as yet another example of how the people of the world have gone mad and cannot take the blame when they make a wrong or bad desicion.0 -
Thanks to reading MSE, the recent price rises/credit crunch has had a minimal impact on my household.
Cheers Martin, I owe you a pint :beer:0
