  • I would like to add my support. Excellent website and full of good advise. People are always going to have a go or complain. Contraversy makes good T.V.(look at Question time:D). Anyhoo who could have predicted how bad the current recession would get?!. Keep smiling Martin, as you are right and all the mockers, can please themselves. Hope all MSE'S have a great weekend x :)

Got to say, I am here nor there regarding Jon Snow's interview techniques, normally.
I missed the interview on tv but watched online.
Martin Lewis makes suggestions and gives advice, as do many other (financial) advisers who have a less public profile, noone is forced to take this advice.
Regarding the banking situation Martin, and many others, have explained many times how the compensation system works and some of the ins and outs of it, and have clearly advised that noone should have more than £50K (£35K prev) in any one institution or account.
I do feel sorry for anyone involved with the IceSave situation and I suppose people are looking for someone to blame for it!

  • I hardly ever post on the forums as I usually find the answers to my questions somewhere on the site but I felt compelled to add my voice in support of Martin!

Martin (and his site) has helped me save hundreds of pounds since I discovered him back in 2005. I am and always will be truly truly thankful for all the wonderful work he does. There are not many people in the public eye who truly make a profound difference to the quality of people's lives - certainly no politician and definitely no Channel 4 interviewer but Martin does. He is a champion of the everyman against the powerful tricks of the financial trade. I can think of no other person from whom one can get such sound, unbiased advice.
If you think about it, Martin didn't have to do this with his life - he could have sold his wealth of knowledge, skills and talent to help rich powerful companies get richer and become a fat cat along with all the other fat cats. However, thank God, he chose to help us- all for free.

Let's all be grateful that we can benefit from the advice of such a man of enormous integrity.

    Thank you Martin.x
  • I would like to add my support for Martin, I think people are, in fear, jumping to conclusions and looking for scapegoats.

I think this is a great site, great ideas, great support, and I, for one, am not going anywhere :D

I'd like to add my support and thanks to Martin & the MSE team and volunteers.Martin, your enthusiasm for helping others shines out-please do not be put off what you are doing.:T

Of course it is a worrying time for investors but people have to weigh up the risks for themselves. My local council has lost millions in Iceland,I'm sure they didn't invest just on your say so- this is global, and not the fault of one man as portrayed in the C4 interview.

I love the site and forums, and can really say that they have changed my way of life for the better, and the way I now view my finances.

Martin has my 100% support and has opened the eyes of thousands of people into the dangers of trusting the banking establishment.

I do get annoyed when people whinge when they lose out having put all their money in the same basket. Any decent financial advisor would advise to do otherwise....

Martin and MSE has literally saved thousands and thousands of people from being in a far worse position now then they would have been had they not found MSE.

In three years I have turned my £30k of debt to £0 and paid off my mortgage - due mainly down to MSE and Old Styler advice. My husband and I are forever indebted to Martin and the MSE subscribers for their advice and support.

    :money: Keep rocking Martin!!!!!:money:

In my opinion, a newscaster is part journalist - only good enough to read autocues and part actor - lacking the talent to succeed!!!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
