  • This site has been a haven for me, and I have benefited so much from the information here.

Some people wouldn't have any savings if it wasn't for Martin!

Just wanted to add my support.

we live in a culture were people refuse to take responsibility for their own actions...so when things go wrong they look for an easy scape goat to blame. Martin has always urged people to use their brains to make the right choices for themselves, and it makes me very sad if people blame him for what is a crisis on a global scale.

thank you for all the advice and common sense Martin. :money:

  • That interview was quite obviously lacking any proper research and was, frankly, laughable. Talking over someone is the technique of those who have no legitimate opposing response and merely want to win by shouting down their opponent. He had no valid point whatsoever...he almost made it seem like Martin should be held accountable for the whole crisis! What a load of cr*p. Personally I wouldn't give it a second thought - no one with any common sense could possibly watch that and believe that Martin was at fault.

Keep doing what you're doing Martin - you are fantastic and the work you do is invaluable to millions of people. We couldn't do without you!

i also would like to say thank you to all at mse ,

    i have saved this year

car insurances = £320 per year
    home insurance=£250 per year
    mobile phones £20 per mth
    groceries £50 per week
utility bills £ £350 per year

that works out at £3760 saving
not to mention a small fortune in christmas gifts

now this may not seem like a lot of money to some people but this is just under a years mortgage payments for me
and these savings are not something i would have been able to do without all
the help and support of all the friendly people on here

I have "lurked" for over two years before finally posting a couple of months ago - however, all my workmates now know about MSE and "Martins' site". I have been telling them for ages that "Frugal is the new Chic", though I am sure they just think I'm a bit nuts!! :rotfl:

Thanks to Martin and this site:money: , I am a far more "savvy" shopper; have cut my food shopping bill right down; stocked up my cupboards; switched energy suppliers and am far more financially aware.

Martin, we all love you :iloveyou: - don't let the b***ard's grind you down!

  • I have learnt so much from martin and all the people who use this website and I do not understand how ch. 4 could be so blind to all the good that martin does.

The 'have a go at Martin thread'.

I just wanted to point out this thread to anyone who hasn't seen it. I think he doesn't deserve this from MSE's so please can some of you go over there support him. The man deserves a knighthood not a roasting!
    Thanks!

  • I'd just like to add my support to Martin and this fantastic site!! :T It's really helped me knowing there are other people out there who know exactly how I feel and what I'm going through. I've saved quite a bit of money thanks to some great people on here and also my debt is slowly coming down. I also found sites like quidco etc thanks to this site
How can anyone blame Martin?? Look at the bottom of the page and read what it says:
This website is based on journalistic research. It does not constitute financial advice. Any information should be considered in regard to specific circumstances. All tips are followed at your own risk and should be followed up with your own research .

keep up the good work Martin!!

  • What a to**er that Jon Snow was to Martin eh?! Never liked Channel 4 News anyway! I hate when the interviewer talks over any point the interviewee tries to make or when they are trying to defend their words or actions, but being stifled.:mad::mad:

I'm forever preaching to family & friends, to the point of verging on becoming a MSE nerd :rotfl:, about the site and things I've learned from it.

BIG hugs & :kisses3: to Martin and an echo of earlier posts, "don't let the bar-stewards get you down!"

    :money: should be Prime Minister.

If those-who-are-in-charge had applied his brand of common sense to the running of this country we'd quite possibly all be a lot better off.

Thank you, Martin and your wonderful team of staff (and volunteers!) who keep this site going. You have all changed people's lives for the better.
