  • Just been to Norwich, blue boar lane store and they have sel of £229.88 and couldn't see anything about free tapes either, no free camera for me

Thanks for that. You've saved me the trip. Any idea if Sprowston, Dereham or Harford Bridge (Ipswich Road Tesco) have them in? I'll check out Yarmouth tomorrow, but they never have these things in. Won't bother with Stalham. None in Bury St. Edmunds.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

If there's only one left, it would have been better not to name the store.... always a chance of some sneaky !!!!!! who will beat you to it!
  • The tesco i got my JVC camcorder in had he item in a locked glass display cabinet. Just simply ask the staff member for the item and pay for it. They are generally kept out back for security i think. They will probably have a few there so be brave and ask.
    Goodluck people.
Watch out, you never know who is about.

    hi where is the scanner?

The scanner in Stockport Extra is in aisle 7 (and it works really well, even DVDs/CDs in their protective boxes etc). This aisle used to be the coffee etc aisle, but they seem to be having a huge move around of all stock at the moment. (Don't know if this is in preparation for them possibly having to board up part of the store seeing as they *mistakenly* built the store bigger than their planning permission!)

Only been to the blue boar lane letely. Do you know if there are any self scanners in there, can't find any at all.
As you say, don't bother with Stalham, seems a pretty small store.
But don't know about the others.
Actually didn't realise Dereham had a Tesco, could be my next weeks shopping trip. ;)

I actually sent her a PM straight away advising her to get back down to the store in question ASAP for this reason.

Rang the Head Office this morning, who is ringing the manager involved last night and getting back to me.

Apparently, on the 21st November 2005 the board decided on a policy change. This means that it is now due to store discretion if they give you this policy or not!

The person at Head Office has also had to go and ask her line manager if she is able to override the store or not.

Dont want to doom and gloom people, but this could be the end of this freebie!

Waiting to hear from HO ... what do I say if they refuse now?!
  • surely if they have changed the policy so it is the store's descretion this should be in plain view to the public along with the policy. I have not had an indepth look at the policy behind customer services but is there any small print or anything that indicates there are terms and conditions with regard to the policy?

When they call back i'd be tempted to point this out "if its the store managers descretion why is it not indicated on the policy sign? as this is very misleading to the public"
