One thing I`ve not seen written about in here is when Mr T pays you to take his goods away. Usually when items are reduced for quick sale - look out for 3 for the price of 2 offers.

for example - Sausages - £1.50 per pack reduced to 49p, 3 for price of 2.

Till will normally scan them all at 49p and then deduct £1.50 as per the 3 for 2 offer.

In that case you'd get them for nothing and get 52p back off Tesco. :)

A guy was discounting HE ready meals on sunday which were in boxes stating 2 for 1, i askd him if the discount would still gothrough and he said no?

Tesco used to operate mutlibuy reductions on reduced items but stopped it some time ago.

I think though, that if the items you're buying have the 3 for 2 stickers on them and are reduced also, CS would have a very hard job refusing a refund if the offer isn't honoured. Reason? The 3 for 2 offer is prominent and any t&c regarding it's validity aren't. Therefore it would effectively be an overcharge.

Does in my store. BOGOFs still work - at the reduced price. Buy 2 for £x won't work as the reduced amount brings it under the £x. As previously mentioned, buy 2 get £x off does still work on reduced items.

Which day is the best to go to the meat counter as all seem to be corrected now. When is the next price change on the big ones, e.g sat nav and electricals.?? We need to blitz Mr. T on the morning of the pricing change. Maybe theres some inside knowledge forthcoming on this from someone.

I thought, probably naively, that this was the whole point of the exercise: to get Tescos to sharpen their act up.

Well at least that was the excuse given by all those in the feeding frenzy that is R&R. They justified it to themselves and others that it was all to make sure Tesco realised what they were doing and didn't overcharge other "poor innocent shoppers".

So now it seems they have got their pricing act together, or are at least trying very hard to, but that doesn't seem to suit those who really were only doing it to get free stuff, despite their many protestations to the contrary. It seems to me that some people are now pee'd off because they can't get their freebies and are now planning strategies like a military attack

You'll all do what you want in the end but don't, please don't, ever say that you are doing it for the greater good of the innocent shopper any more because I very much doubt anyone will believe you.

You changed your "naive" view on the back of one comment, then make a general comment to everyone stating that they must be doing the same.
Does this mean that Robert5686 is the spokesperson for the collective?

not on one comment, no that is incorrect.

The general trend from reading this, and the previous, threads over the past few weeks is what has formed my opinion on this. You only need to read back through all the posts on both threads to see the way this has taken shape. I was not saying it is everybody, it just seems to be a trend amongst some.

but if the cap fits... :p

I can't spend time reading these threads from the start... I'm far too busy visiting the stores to exploit Tesco's R&R policy!! Ha Ha!

Been to Blue Boar Road Tesco, Norwich this morning and couldn't find any mis-prices. Although I'm pretty new to this so could easily have missed some.
Even the flavoured chicken in the bag was the correct price.

But I did notice a Bush 28" Flat TV with poster price of £169.97, and sel price of £169.92.
I don't know what it scans at though. And if it did scan at the higher price I feel you might have a fight on your hands for a misprice of just 5p.
I was to scaredy cat to even try it :D

I couldn't find a self scanner there either.

well said wannasave. I know my opinions are not wanted by many on this thread but i do have a read every day if nothing else for amusement value.

I have said before that i have no issues with people using the R&R policy, its there in case departments like mine make mistakes and customers are charged more than they thought that they would be for their shopping. HOWEVER, when people actually know that they are going to be charged more than the SEL indicates, are they really being overcharged?? A question that is open to debate......and as for people who buy several of one item that they cant possible need (CD's, vacuums, etc etc) then it can be tantamount to fraud (obtaining goods by deception)

Cue all those that say tesco is making millions by defrauding customers.......

Good luck to those that use the R&R policy genuinely, i feel sorry for you because the few WILL spoil it for the many....and possibly sooner rather than later.

For further information, no EXTRA emphasis has been placed on pricing policies due to the "Feeding Frenzy" that the R&R policy has become. It has ALWAYS been one of the highest things on the agenda.

  • I agree it is there for genuine misprices and using it to buy multiples of one thing is definately wrong but at the same time just buying one is technically helping Mr. T by pointing it out to him?!
