I'm pleased to see I am not the only person having problems with this website. I sold two books both marked as recived by the buyer by the middle of October and I have still not recieved payment, despite being told that i had been paid (via email) on the 20th November. I checked that my bank details are correct and have contacted them numerous times to which the only response i have recieved is that i have been paid, when slearly i havn't as i have never had a payment take this long to clear into my account before!
have sent them one final message today and if they fail to do anything about it then i will be contacting trading standards to see where i stand on this. I would advise anyone else having problems to do the same as the more complaints they recieve the more likely they are to do something about it!0

I actually phoned and got really ratty with them after the last time I posted, and the money cleared in my account within 3 days. They are an absolute joke though - if anyone reading this hasn't used them yet, and were thinking about it, then don't!! It's far more hassle than it's worth!
Get yourself over to Amazon and sell your books there!

I started another thread asking for advice on what to do, and someone suggested the following:
Sent a letter to their head office by recorded delivery. If they don't respond within 7 days contact :

I would avoid this company like the plague! I had no trouble buying books from this site however I sold my first book last month. The buyer was charged immedeately but I have yet to be paid.
Despite numerous emails I have had no response, the online support is always offline and the phone is never answered.
I tracked the address which is listed on their site and it is a fim of chartered accountants who told me that studentsellstuff use the address but don't physically exist there.
 Be warned!0

it appears what these guys have done is copy a very successful site in the usa which has a lot of private equity backing - the idea is good if you have the resources and people to run it properly - what it appears to be the case is that they have neither and end up peeing off a lot of users... would recommend just sticking with selling on amazon to be honest..0

Have you ever bought anything from sellstudent stuff.com? My first experience, see below:
I looked at my account, under Bought was stating that the book I bought has not been posted yet. I was sending several messages to the seller with no replay, I was calling their support line, 0871 875 0011, and there was no way I could get through. To make matters worse, their e-mail was not being recognised on their own website.
I just want to say that my first experience buying through Sell Student Stuff was pretty scary! Not sure if I would recommend it. They definitely have to be more efficient opening lines for communication.
At the end, I did receive the book and even now when I look at my account, as I said previously, the statement “Not posted yet” still there.0

I'm in exactly the same position as you. Should I write a letter to sellstudentstuff before conacting Trading Standards? I'm not sure what my first move should be.0

Tiger silly, i have contacted trading standards and they gave me this website..
Hi, I've just emailed consumer direct giving details of my non-payment by SellstudentStuff. I am so angry that they still have not paid me and I don't understand how this company thinks it can get away with it!0

I purchased a book from there on 21st March. As yet I have not received it. I went to contact customer support today, but when you go to the website I just get the message saying "Unfortunately, Sell Student Stuff.com is no longer operating. Further information will follow shortly"
I have no doubt that I will not see my money again, nor receive the book! I'm just glad it only cost me £8!!! I have emailed Consumer Direct, but I'm not holding my breath!Windows is the path to the darkside...Windows leads to Blue Screen. Blue Screen leads to downtime. Downtime leads to suffering...I sense much Windows in you.0
