Anyone used Sell Student Stuff.com

Hey all,

Has anyone used the website www.sellstudentstuff.com?

I put my old uni textbooks hoping to make a bit of money back on them, 3 of them have sold, and I've posted them off, but although more than a month has passed now I haven't received any of the money from them.

They say in their e-mails that they pay you on the first and third Monday of every month, but obviously that was last Monday, and so far nothing's appeared in my bank account.

I've tried e-mailing them, but have had no response.

Has anyone else any experience of this site? Or any suggestions for what I should do?

I'm afraid i have not used this site and have not heard of it before.
Personally I would not sell anything to a student without the money up front lol :rotfl:

I use that site and have had no trouble with payments. It's vital you have the correct bank account and debit card details on the site in your profile. I got paid this week for 2 books sold in the last month. If there's a problem they have an online help thing that you can use.

Thanks - I got an e-mail in response to the e-mails I'd sent them last night apparently due to the high volume they're getting they've had problems processing payments and responding to queries, they haven't mentioned when the money's likely to come through, but apparently it's a top priority for them - but I suppose they would say that! :P

jammy sod! I actually found that I didn't make very much money on the ones I did sell - because they were so heavy they cost a fortune to post - one book which cost me £60, I only made a profit of about 50p! I guess that's my lesson not to price them so cheaply in future though! - whoops!!

I just got an e-mail to say I've sold another book, but I'm reluctant to post it when they haven't been so great at paying, hhhhmmmmm.......

I haven't used the websites but its worth doing it locally with mates. When we all left college this year, a lot of our text books got bought by people going into their second years by posting items on college notice boards and the lirary bought some of them. Other stuff via the internet seems a bit dodgy though... don't know if i'd trust it.

hhhhmmm, yeah I should've been more organised and done that at the time! I graduated 4 years ago though, so don't really know anyone studying a similar course, and I'm never anywhere near the Uni to list them on the notice boards! I finally got payment through for 2 of the 3 books I sold this morning though, and I only found out about the site because a friend had used them before (without any problems) - so hopefully it should be ok!

I was so pleased to see that others have had problems with payments. I sold my book a month ago, sent it immediately which cost more than i thought so i lost money!! I have not yet received payment, i called a number which i was emailled a number of times this same guy answers, calls me a differnent name and says he will send payment immediatly, and still no money!!! i have taken off my other books and recommend others to stop selling using this website, its a joke!!

I keep thinking that i have sent the book to them and that noone bought the book and its all a con but i may be jumping to conclusions. Im not sure how to go about things, i cant keep phoning and them promising me in a couple of days to send me payment. ahhh!!
