I intend to make a Christmas Eve hamper for my OH and me.

I will be 7 1/2 month pregnant by then so I will include a little star I found to hang on the tree to represent the baby.

Then us adults we have two new mugs
    snowman soup
    ravensberger christmas jigsaw
    homemade christmas tree choccies
( melted green and black maya and fruit `n nuts)
Seen a PJ set in Sainburys that looks nice
I thought of doing a christmas quiz DVD
( it was free last year with daily mail)
mini bottle of alcohol for OH

    sound okay ???

Your children all sound that will have a lovely time with their kind mummies devoting so much time and effort to them. I think the anticipation in the children is more wonderous on Christmas Eve than Christmas day which normally zooms by.

    thanks B

I've printed out the 'name a star certificate' on sort of parchment paper like a scroll and I'm covering a kitchen towel middle with silver paper decorated with stars.............might put the story inside as well.
I did put this on another thread (I think).........can't remember where now though......

Love your Idea of the kitchen Roll middle for the name a star certificate, I hope you don't mind if I pinch it :D

Feel free sarah - covered it this morning - I'd got some off cuts I'd been given of silvery wallpaper then I'll tie a silver ribbon round it to say what it is.

Printed out the Christmas Star story and managed to get it into columns and A5 size - all I got to do now is work out how to put it in some sort of book form and add some piccys...............oh, and create some sort of book cover.

I've posted this on the crafty for xmas thread but fits here too so hope it's ok if I post again...

Here are my bags of reindeer food. I used oats and sugar crystals that I mixed with red food colouring (turned out pretty well)...

I've put the mixture into small cello bags, done up with an elastic band and then...

...wrapped in hessian so they look like mini sacks.

Couple of people have menitoned using sugar strands, the cake decoration stuff and I think that would work really well.

I love the ideas on this page the Santas Gift could be easily adapted and make a personalised choccy bar for it.

Mary the cellophane bags came from ebay, Flower Hour shop and the hessian 'bag' isn't a bag it's a rectangle of hessian fabric sort of drawn together to look like a bag. When the ribbon comes off the hessian will fall off leaving the cello bag done up with an elastic band. Does that make sense  My boys are only little so didn't go to the bother to make bags as I don't think they will mind ;)
