rainmac your hangers are brilliant, going to have a go at making him one but it'll probably end up a big mess lol.

I love this idea. When I was growing up we opened one presenton Xmas eve night - Mum always picked it from under the tree & it was always a jokey one.

I always get DD's new PJ's but a hamper is a great idea. I think I may do one for OH & myself too! I like the torch idea, I saw a lovely "Princess" torch in Asda the other day. I will add reindeer food to the hamper - was going to do this anyway.
Melon78 - lush currently have chocolate santa's in. I picked one up yesterday for DD's bath - she is only 4 & loves Lush, I only went in at her request as I was given a hat box full for my birthday in Sept.
I also like the DVD idea, although I don't know when we would fit this in on Xmas eve unless we opened the hampers quite early...
OH's & mine can have new PJ's, something alcoholic, something chocolatey, a takeaway menu (tradition on Xmas eve!), slippers (actually the girls can have slippers in theirs too), lush for me & some nice shower gel for OH (he does not do baths!)
I am all excited thinking about this.

Oh I am so excited about this thread and think I will start putting it together over the holidays! You are all so talented and clever thank you! One thing I am going to do for Christmas morning is to dust some icing sugar between the fireplace and the tree then make some boot prints in it so that my DD thinks Santa brought the snow with him!
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!

I have always loved this idea - but I don't think it would do my carpet much good!!!:rotfl:

rainmac - thanks for putting on piccys of your christmas hangers............done baby grandsons apart from the bits to stick on and was getting a bit baffled.............now I got an idea................

If anyone's done the 'Name a Star' certificate for a child, one the childrens christmas stories site (can;t remember which one but think they all do the same) there a story about a Christmas Star that would be nice to print out and put with it. I've just adapted it a bit............brought tears to my eyes..............lol

This is a new idea to me but I'm doing it for my baby grandson (well, 18 months old)
    I'm putting together
Reindeer food - oats (or something similar) with glitter
Snowman soup (basically hot chocolate drink in a snowman mug) to leave out for santa
Mince pies (couple wrapped on a christmas patterned plate)
Christmas flannel and towel - if I can't get nice patterned one I'll stitch a santas head on each )
Buy his usual bath stuff but put Santa stickers on all of it so its a bit special
Door hanger that says 'Santa Please Stop Here'
Christmassy bath toy (if I can find one !)
PJ's (unless his mum already bought them)
Message to santa -freebie print out one

Think thats it. I've done a letter from Santa -wrote that myself to make it more personal and couldn't find any pre-printed ones where I could put his age in.

Like the idea of the story book personalised ........might do that......or just print out short Christmas Story for him................still thinking about that one.

Try this site for Christmas stories, at the bottom there is 3 that you can personalise with your childs name.

Also check the rest of the website out lots of great stuff for the kids and you can Track Father Christmas on the NORAD santa tracker on Christmas Eve of the same site

i'm going to do a hamper for my little one too, but was going to put in the reindeer made from soap and facecloth that was in one of the other threads if i can find it again
  • I have always bought my girls new PJ's to open on on Xmas Eve, but I'm also doing gift baskets for them to open on Xmas Eve.

I'm planning to fill 2 storage boxes (already bought)with:

    New Pj's
    Xmas book each
    Xmas mug/cup
    Reindeer food
    Fleece Blanket
    Bath Stuff
    Choc Coins

I think it's a lovely idea, and such a special treat for them, and the boxes I've bought will come in handy for keeping bits & bobs in afterwards!

I'm loving all these ideas, i can't wait until christmas. Last year alex was too young to understand anything but this year he might take an interest in the christmas decorations and hopefully be able to open his presents rather than trying to have a chew at them.
