rainmac - hadn't thought of a basket - been messing about this afternoon with various size boxes but so far only for reindeer food and snowman soup to go in anything untill I find out what sort of bath stuff baby grandson uses and whether someone maybe getting him some xmas pj's. Oh, and I wanted to get him a bath duck with santa hat on - saw one for £1.99 and can't remember where now..............lol

Got teenage grandsons 'safe keeping' jar done this afternoon as well. Only a small one (empty tartare sauce pot) and filled it with a few marbles (hadn't got enough) and brown nutty type button things. Now need to do approriate label and thats another thing ticked off my 'to do' list........:T

    rainmac - that looks brilliant.

Mine will look a bit sparse by comparison, mind you he is only 18 months old and won't know what on earth is going on................lol

    So far its
Reindeer food with cuddle little reindeer attached
Snowman mug with chocolate sachet plus choc. sprinkles with snowman stuck on top.........thats it for now
Oh and I'll stick little white teddy in there I got off freebe board

OH feels I ought to put his name a star certificate in with the book as the story is a bit more Christmas eve than Christmas day

  • I read this thread last night and was in awe of the ideas people have posted!

Last year I did the "pyjama elves" who delivered pyjamas on xmas eve, but after reading this thread I think I'm gonna do a xmas eve hamper instead as it such a great idea!

I've been out today and started getting bits to go in the box already, plus some bits which I already had:

    2 x pyjamas - £3 each
    2 x xmas colouring books - £1 each
    2 x snowman art sets - £1 each
2 x snowman cake kits - 10p each (reduced Tesco)
    Magic snow - £1.99
    Ben 10 Mug and marshamallows - £3

Lots more things I wanna put in like snowman soup, xmas books etc also liking the idea of the magic reindeer food, but not sure how it works? I understand how to make it etc, but do you get the kids to sprinkle it on the garden before they go to sleep on xmas eve? If yes then what if they go and look in morning and it's still there? Don't they know the reindeer didn't eat it? Anyone know what I mean? lol

My Mum told me that when i was little they used to try and keep the reindeer food on the path so that they could go out and either sweep it away or water it down. That way we always thought that the reindeers had eaten it! xxx
