I have a little book that I write things into. It has persons name, xmas & birthday then I write what I have got, price, original price (hardly ever pay full price) & loft if it has been moved to the loft. I have now started highlighting things when they are wrapped & noted who it is from (us, santa, sister or dog (don't ask!)) so everyone gets something from the right people! A few times I forgot to write in it, but only when it was for one of my girls!
I am also fussy on Xmas morning & have everyone listed that the girls get presents from & write what they have received as they open them - so people get a nice personalised thankyou - usually have an arts & crafts day, then I write the message & Ellie will write over the persons name & just write her own name (she is about to be 4), Katie will just do some scribbles on her thankyou's as she will still only be 21 months come Xmas time.
I think it is important that they know who things come from & that you have to say thankyou.

i'm the same - my two boys can't start opening presents until I have a piece of paper and a pen:rotfl: they have to open them slowly too so I can see who has given what and write it down. I agree that it is important they know who has given what and to write and say thank you.saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

jack - I started off all organised - had a book and listed stuff I bought and who it was for.........then it sort of got missed a few times and some of the stuff I've made hasn''t even been put in it and I really must do that otherwise Ill find I;m giving them the same next year..............lol
So, hopefully, if I get another good nights sleep without coughing the night away I'll feel up to having a good sort out:jMary

I did a long list for my Xmas hamper . Its a kind of christmas eve hamper with knobs on !. Its more a survive christmas hamper really. My OH is off working for most of christmas as an engineer for old firm when the factories shut. So will be here Christmas eve the actual day. Then coming back new years eve.
So i want the short time to be special the hamper list now looks long i don`t want it to look half hearted but i`m not very motivated today. Need gentle kick up bum..

Just ventured into my santas grotto !!!! Scary bags of bits and pieces and brain froze !!Still I made a start................found bits I'd forgotten all about and wouldn't mind keeping myself....................lol
Still..........managed to sort out whats going in youngest sons xmas box and his girlfriends 2 boxes (birthday as well as christmas)
Haven't even started on my friends birthday basket yet - too daunting as there's so many bits that are 'maybes' for her. So, thought it best to come away from it all and sorted out all my card making stuff instead. My friend bought me three stacking boxes for my birthday so all my embellishments and little cut offs of card are in them now.........then had complete tidy of my card drawer..............my word I am doing well:T
Done reindeer food as well and managed to fix little cuddly reindeer to the tub so he looks like he's hanging on for dear life.................:rotfl:
Ooops..............just spotted 'canned sunshine' for grandson that should have gone upstairs !!
So, come on brookeslay - is I can have a go so can you:rotfl:Mary

etc.
The remaining stuff i`ll get in November thus taking pressure off ..phew
If you need any help with freinds hamper let me know two brains and all that !
aww to cute reindeer on reindeer food ! they had a lovely little reindeer rattle in Mothercare .. though I stepped back my temptation..lol

brookeslay - thanks but the only help I need with friends hamper is someone to come round and tell me which of the many odds and ends I actually bought with her in mind....................lol I've spotted a few 'special' bits but the rest, well its anyones guess.
Still, least everythings now in one room...........well more or less..........lol:rotfl:Mary

I'm going to try and get my boys Xmas Eve hamper done tomorrow. I think I can do it all with the exception of biscuit mix which I can add nearer the time. I'm not going to wrap it up, just pop it all into a basket. Really looking forward to it:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0
