I did one for my 2 children for the first time last Christmas and they loved it! They enjoyed the hampers so much and all of us relaxing together the night before having a snuggle instead of running around getting stuff done.
They loved it so much so that they are already talking about our 'new tradition' and how nice it was and are looking forward to carrying it on. It really set the scene and mood for a cosy family Christmas.0 -
Ours will be small this year as we are going to the panto Xmas eve afternoon, so we won't add any DVD's, crafts or snacks.
I will have one with PJ's, our cups which come out each year, some hot chocolate, toothbrush etc which will have appeared when we get back from the theatre (I will be the last one to the toilet before we go & put the bags on the bed then)
I love Christmas & seeing this thread made me smile0 -
I did Christmas eve hampers last year for my 6 & 3 year old. It was magical! They got personalised Santa letters & reindeer food, mugs for snowman soup, new pj's & slippers, Christmas dvd & Santa book & a blanket each. It's something I will do now every year cos I got just as much joy out of it as they did!! :j:j0

Not sure if I mentioned it before but when I did my grandsons Christmas eve box I stuck a label on a bottle of his normal bath stuff -something christmassy, appliqued a reindeer to a white flannel, and last year added a little tine flower pot filled with bird seed, popped a robin (the sort you get to decorate cakes) and a bit of holly on the top -had to cover it with cling film so it didn't spill out and that was Robin Redbreasts Christmas breakfast and grandson had to scatter it outside christmas morning before he could open his presents.
Was OH's idea when I'd got some spare seed pots and didn't know what to do with them............:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary did you do the labels yourself? I really like that idea, might have a go at some myself - not sure how well they'd turn out though!
Love the idea of the robins breakfast, how sweet! Your hampers sound great!0 -
:ji love this site:j had a wee thought sorry if its already been posted.
hope this is not a bad idea cos of the weather but the naming a star thing could be done for young ones by attatching to a chrismassy helium balloon and doing a balloon release at tea time when its dark ive seen wee tini lights inside balloons b4 in tesco for halloween that stay activated for a couple of hours one of these would be really cool if anyone sees them please let us know if the weather is bad you could still let it go and say the wind takes it where it needs to go! kx0 -
chasing sunshine - I did the labels myself just using either an image I printed off internet or some stickers I had among my card making stuff.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
