I got all my Xmas Eve hampers together last night. I actually did them in big gift bags rather than hampers. I am going to put them on everyone's beds whilst everyone is eating lunch - then send Ellie up to find something for me... however knowing her (she is only 4) she won't even notice it!

OH has been away this week & will be away again next week so it has given me a chance to get lots done.

As my OH and I finished work yesterday and it is the first time we have had 2 weeks off together without it being our summer holiday, I decided to make us a "run up to Christmas" hamper.

I gave it to him last night and he was thrilled with it.

    Contents:

Fake fur throw for snuggling on the sofa (£10 B&M) - justified as it can be used on the end of our bed after Christmas
    Selection of Christmas DVDs - from £1 - £5
    Christmas mugs - £1 each - Poundland
    Snowman soups
Puzzle (he has been looking for this one for ages) £8 from Amazon
    New book each
New thick socks for under wellies when we go walking
Mistletoe Kisses, Chocolate elves and bar of chocolate

We have had a drink of hot chocolate and an elf each and used the blanket as we snuggled and watched a film today.

Thanks for the ideas and I hope your hampers are as well received. :T

  • I've never done "Eve" hampers but they look great fun.
When the kids were little we always used to go to church for the Christingle service, then home for party food for them and their friends. Read Twas the night before Christmas, sprinkled reindeer dust and hung out Santa's special key.(Cos we don't have a fireplace!). Put out mince pie and sherry for me;)....whoops......Santa, then bed.
The adults-me, OH, my Mam and Dad always had a special meal.
Now they are 19, 15 and 13 so they have the meal with us. They still insist on story, reindeer dust and key!!!!!:D:D

    hi all

I have just finished packing my christmas eve hamper. It is for the whole family (including MIL) and the kids age 3 and 4 will find it on the floor infront of the fireplace when they return from the Christingle service with MIL.

The hamper is a cardboard box (it contained my LUSH delivery :) ) that i have covered in snowmen wrapping paper.

    The hamper contains

    for the kids:
Christmas Kids treasury book from the book people,
christmas re-usable sticker book that we have used for the past 2 years (it disappears with the decorations)
    PJ's for the kids
snowman and reindeer cups for the kids
    Lush snowmen for the kids
    Christmas DVD
    a couple of chocolate santa's
peg doll angel kit to make to put on top off tree
reindeer food in a hessian bag
    letter from santa
    carrots and mince pies

    for me, OH and MIL
a Lush shower bomb each - to wake us up at 6am!
a bottle of red wine (one glass will be poured for santa before the kids go to bed)

    terrys chocolate orange

    I can't wait!

I also have a boxing day hamper to make up - which is all crafts and games, and a scavenger hunt, to play with my extended family all day....

so christmas spreads over 3 days :)
