I'm very tempted to go for a Yankee candle for my mum's hamper. They are soo yummy! Any ideas where to buy them as cheap as possible? Online or in 'real' shops. And what festive smells would you recommend?[/quote
Hi have you tried the website www.yankeedoodle.co.uk got some really good deals from there last week and also if you enter the code MSE at the checkout they will send you three free votives which I thought was really good, if you want any advice on the smells lol just give me a shout not shamed to say I am addicted to them lol!!0 -
I needed some boxes to put my 4 xmas eve hampers in, I wanted them big enough to lay A4 paper in without it getting screwed up as I have printed out some xmas colouring in pages. Yesterday we were in Asdas looking at the sweets and my OH picked an empty box off the shelf and said here, you wanted a box. It was just the right size and had the front a bit lower than the back. People gave us funny looks then when we stood and emptied the sweets out of another 3 boxes and put the empty boxes in our trolley lol.
Got some cheap silver wrapping paper for 16p I think and went home and covered the boxes ( I cut them down a bit lower as they were just a bit too high. Tra la, 4 xmas eve hampers all ready and done up in cello. One very pleased person.0 -

Might get some more bits once my brother lets me know his girlfriends faves. What branch did you go to, if you don't mind me asking?
It is the double Snowman/Father Christmas DVD that I bought. HMV website have it as their special-when you buy any other product, you can buy it for £3.99. Got one myself too. It's been years since I saw the Snowman. :T

Whats a Yankee Candle?
I like the Covent garden shop. It's like a cave downstairs. Has he ever been to their sister shop, 'B never too busy to be beautiful'? It's next door(or next door but one!) and sells make up and some other bath bits-for men too. It's soooo pretty! They have a website if you wanted to look at what they sell. Apparently there's a new 'B' bar opened in Oxford St and me and some friends are going to go there next week. I'm in London, but used to work in the Romford shop.
A Yankee candle is a very popular American brand of candles. They are a little bit pricey, but they smell heavenly and the smell lasts ages.
lesley_mac has very kindly sent me some suggestions on what fragrances to buy, so I'm looking at the Yankee Doodle website at the moment. Think I'll get a couple for me too!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I can justify spending £3.50 on a bath once in a while, it is my own little treat.DH has just told me off because I have just bought what he would have bought me for christmas! I told him not to worry, I will need more by then! NBTBTBB is way over my pampering budget though. I went in once and would have had to buy myself a dressing table to display my make up! It would not be the same digging it out of my manky old bag!!:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
They are very expensive. I couldn't afford them now, but with staff discount I could. The Love perfume is lovely.
The bubble bars from Lush are great because the bubbles last for ages. Better value for money than the bombs, although I adore Avobath.
My shopping arrived this morning, so that was quick service.
If anyone is looking for a good male christmassy soap, Spice Curls is nice. I've just put a block on our soap dish and the whole house smells of it now.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

It's no good telling me how much you spent-what did you buy??? There has been some new things since I left Lush, but plenty of oldies & goodies. Christmas Kisses bubble bar is yummy.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
