I don't get my purse out until I find out how much the shopping costs- because before that point I'm loading it onto the belt and packing it up! :-D0

Yeah but you can put it in a location where it then only takes a second to get to. The problem is when people haven't a clue where their payment method is located on them. Which I agree is very annoying.0 -

True. When I'm queuing I automatically get my loyalty card and debit card out and slip them in my back pocket ready to whip them out to pay.The man without a signature.0 -

In between loads she put her purse away going through 4 or 5 zips again, only to have to go through exactly the same procedure to pay for the second load.

But a lot of middle aged women play hunt the payment method in the 500 compartments in their handbags. It's when they play their Joker that kills me - they pull out a wad of money-off coupons that need to be scanned and 50% of the time they haven't bought the right product or it's a different store coupon. Then they argue with the cashier over getting 15p off their Marmite. By then the cashier, the supervisor that's been called over, the rest of the queue and I have lost the will to live.

Regarding bags, it's hard to keep track of where a small item is if you lug everything around in one that only has one or two compartments and you don't have any pockets in your clothes (none of my skirts have pockets, and I wear skirts a lot). Not such an excuse for ladies with bags that have lots of separate compartments, though, when you could keep a wallet in the same compartment all the time!
As for trolleys, I do walk off and leave mine, but try to make sure it's not blocking aisles. I'm not good at steering them, though, so it seems like the lesser of two evils - I feel like I'm not tall enough and don't have enough upper body strength to make them go where I want them to when they're full, so it's a bit like slow-motion dodgems and hard not to hit people/displays/round corners. I try to push them around as little as possible and take the shopping to the trolley once I'm in an aisle. I think I'd have less trouble if the trolleys were slightly shorter.0 -
Ladies should only be allowed to shop between 9 and 10 on every second Saturday, except in Decmber, when they should be banned completely0
