Well I haven't found any time to ready anyone elses diaries so feel right out of the loop!
This morning I'm scanning in photos before a blood test, then four lessons at school and two tutorings after school. Going to take a picnic tea with me as I won't get in till eight thirty and I don't want to be rushing around on these dark roads.
Managed to go swimming before my course yesterday and it was great apart from having no hair dryers there wasn't that much difference between swimming at the gym I used to go to, and swimming in the public pool - it wa quite quiet and clean - I'm looking forward to going again!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

I think the thing with overpayments is even a little goes a long way. I don't find the extra jobs or the allotment that hard and I don't have kids. I really don't know how people do it with kids!
I agree with you, I started with a £100,499 at a fixed rate for 10 years of 6.34% back in September 07. I've downloaded an OP calculator and £50 extra per month could reduce my term by 5 years and save me £36,383.12!
I'm 21 in December and if I could push the OP up to £500 per month I could be mortgage free by the time I'm 30! I'm sure I'll end up moving at some point in the future however the possibility of saving £138,102.81 in interest ALONE can not be ignored!0 -
Last night, after a meeting then two tutorings didn't get in til almost 9pm - which did feel late! I have been thinking about wether I do over do it, but the prize - being mortgage free and able to make my own choices about what I spend my time doing instead of working to line the banks pockets - is so great I am so motivated to do it, and pay it off.
I am even thinking about what I want to do after I've paid off my mortgage, in terms of my career. I am thinking about taking another degree just an open uni one, and then a doctorate. This will open other avenues for me, but will be really really hard work and something will have to give!
Still. I've got plenty of time to make the decision, and consider my options. Has anyone else / someone you know completed extra study to further their career prospects? To what result?
Today normal teaching day plus one tutoring. Then I will finish my scanning and get the pictures sent off. Depending on how long this takes I might do an hour of website promotion. The website will definately by my priority this weekend though!

My studies have been a bit backward e.g. doing PGCE after teaching for a while, and a lot whilst actually doing a particular job i.e. NVQ internal verifier, but I will probably do something else too which would put me in a better position at work to get more teaching hours such as completing my degree in Health and Social Care. Alternatively I could do the basic skills teaching course or a further management course as I know my boss (who is useless) will be retiring in a few years so the NVQ team co-ordinator post would be available. Decisions, decisions!
What I have found during my career is that new opportunities open up and one day you'll say 'I never thought I'd end up doing this!'

Well today I've had a NSD as usual but didn't come on my bike - I guess I have to own up I'm a fair weather cyclist!
I am working late at school - being observed by the head in the next few weeks and need to get everything up to date! I have a tutoring at 6pm, so I won't be here too long!
Despite spening another hour scanning in photos I've still got another pile to do when I get home - its so boring! I plan to get as much stuff out of the way today as I can, so that I can concentrate on the website at the weekend....
Will also have to show my face at the allotment maybe Saturday morning. They are a strange lot there, nice I guess, but a bit funny if you don't go regularly and break your back digging! I will take my spade and do a little!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Hi all,
Just met my November OP target, so overpayed £500 for tutoring :j and £500 from a few months working in the Supermarket, with the overtime I got in the summer.
This means that I haven't touched £350 my OH has given me for the OP - I can't overpay more than £1000 without incurring charges.
Had a really really annoying few days at work so trying to get as much done today, and getting up early tomorrow too, so I can work on website and relax later tommorow (I always say this but never actully relax!)
Today I will:
[strike]Make OP[/strike]
Clean house Done
Finish dads present Done
Tomorrow I will:
Go to allotment and get veg for sunday lunch Done
Sort through apples and potatoes in storage. Done
Make pasta sauce with tomatoes
Do Website work Done a bit
Enjoy the weekend!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Had a a horrible Sunday where I just didn't feel right - think I'm too hard on myself! But since then had a good few days. Work has been ok -my observation from the Head went fine I guess - I should find out soon enough if it wasn't! Managed to do two tutoring last night, one tonight, so thats £75 for Dec OP- it all adds up!
Was in the pool by seven this morning so feeling quite pleased :A. and going for my free hair group hair cut later!:T Got loads of free food from lunch duty so has been a NSD as well.:T
