  • Our rabbit stew was lovelhy but neither of us managed to eat much of it as we're both fighting off this fluey cold that's doing the rounds. At least that means that the remainder will do for tomorrow, I guess. :o

Don't beat yourself up over the food thing - if something nice is reduced down well then you'd be daft not to buy it, wouldn't you! I'd not have the vaguest clue how to do Ratatouille so you're ahead of me there!

Glad your OH agreed to get that arm checked too - fingers crossed it is a simple case of bruising.

    .

I really struggle with rabbit. Although I have eaten it & did like it I can't forget Snowy my bunny - someone broke into his hutch & stole him . Always been afraid that maybe someone has stored him in the freezer & is dishing him up to me - although after 40 years that seems unlikely :o Hope you're feeling better EH.

EG, how did OH get on - sounds v icky

OH rang the doctors but said they didnt have any non emergency appointments, and he refuses to take an emergency appointment  incase they send him to the hospital. They have managed to fit him in tomorrow instead. I think they'll take one look at it and tell him to go to hospital anyway! We will see...

Going to get ready for classes tomorrow, and then got two new tutorings to do tonight. Will be cooking Lamb chops(ooops for £1) and mash and veg. Then "down time":T !

Had a lovley discussion with OH last night, and we worked out that when we have paid off the mortgage, I can do whatever I want in terms of career (even do nothing at all!) as long as I keep my tutoring business going - doing two per night means about £1000 gross per month - I wouldn't even have to do that.

So when I am in a bit of a downer about all this work, absent colleagues, exams and general stress - It really cheers me up to think that in five years time I will be able to scale down my commitments if I want!

    Have a good evening!

Boys are funny bout ouch's arn't they? MY OH is exactly the same, my dad too now I think of it.

  • 5 years - oh you lucky devil!! I'm jealous now!

I love lamb - as and when we get our second freezer sorted out we're going to invest in a whole lamb all butchered ready....being able to do that sort of thing is one of the reasons we want the extra freezer, actually! That was an excellent bargain getting those chops for that price too - your local supermarket obviously do better reductions than ours does!

Thanks for your good wishes by the way - and Gallygirl too. I am feeling a bit better now - my lovely boss let me work through my lunch today so I was able to leave early - I came home and went to bed for a bit. I felt like eating tonight too so must be on the mend! Just got to get my nose to stop running now - aargh!

What's planned for dinner tomorrow night then EG? I have a small cauliflower that desperately needs using up so will probably combine that with pasta and bake in a cheese sauce. Mr EH is usually at rugby practise on a Thursday but having had this lurgy he's decided it's best not to go tomorrow. Bang goes my night in on my own watching trashy TV!

EH how did you get on with making all of your lovely meals?!Are you feeling better?

Haven’t been able to update for a while as I have been so busy! Managed to get most of the work at school finished, but still feeling really stressed out about work.

This weekend I’ve managed to clean the house, decorate it, do a weekly shop (£40 eek!) and finish off cards and presents. I did a mystery shop for £20 (!) which I used for two Christmas presents. I worked 10 hours in the supermarket, and apart from my Christmas meal out on Saturday, I cooked all my own meals – so lots done!

I did about 4 hours work on our business, but have had a bit of a disagreement with OH about our new website design, so that took my motivation away – this is the problem with working together and having no outside input, its really hard if you disagree.

So trying to get my motivation back! Today and tomorrow I am just going to get the stressfull school exams and admin out of the way, and then focus on my work for our business again.

I have planned meals for the week! Pasta salad, paella, pork steaks and veg, pasta, and then I’m away.Lets hope I can stick to it!

I have overpayed by £1000 on Saturday so hit my December target again – will have more of a challenge in Jan as I have spending in Paris to pay for!

I’ve handed in my notice at the Supermarket as I wasn’t enjoying it and it was too time consuming- I've done it for 3 years so thats enough! My tutoring business easily covers the wages I was getting anyway!

    Right back to Marking!

Ofcourse you are welcome, although I am pants at cooking and just throw things in the general direction of the cooker and hope for the best! It has been ok this week though - no takeaways!

All going well on the savings and income front. Income is going to take a bit of a dip as not much tutoring going on around xmas - but that gives me chance to have a break and work on the business (and maybe even see OH!)

I finish school tomorrow, and then have a meeting with our web designer and then a 5 hour shift in Supermarket. I will also clean up and do a weekly shop.

Saturday I will do business work in the morning, then working at supermarket (last shift!!) and then off to visit mum - yey!

    Have a great weekend everyone!
