Well I kind of wish I was at work (only kind of) and taking advantage of their heating -its freezing, raining and miserable here!
So needless to say I haven't got into the garden yet, but looking at the weather forecast I might just have to run out and do a bit until I get too cold as I don't think its going to get better.
I have ordered 5 litres of matt emulsion for the nursery for £1.80 from the Wilkos sale, bargain! Now I just need a border, should be able to get that with a voucher.
I have watched the dvd the midwife gave me, and wish I hadn't watched it on my ownbut my mum has cheered me up with her no-nonsense approach to life!! She has got a chest of drawers for me to put the baby clothes in, so I might as well save the sorting out in the attic until I have that. Plus its freezing up there!!
I'm sure I normally do a spot of sunbathing with a good book at Easter15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

What did you want to go and watch the DVD for?
Seriously try not to stress. It isn't something you would voluntarily go for, but it got in there and has to get out somehow. And if in doubt, epidurals are the absolute business.
Only partly joking. I had pethidine and an epidural with DS1 and labour was forever - 27 hours. DS2 was au naturel with one sniff of gas and air, over in a few hours and a much better experience.
It isn't that bad. I would go through it again to get the reward at the end of it.
Good find on the paint. Maybe try freecycle to see if anyone has an odd bit of border that might finish the room off. We picked some up for our DS's room cheap in B and Q. It seems to be the sort of thing you end up with an odd bit hanging round. Or maybe something that isn't baby-fied as such but kidd-ified. We have an underwater scene on ours with submarines, cartoon divers, sharks and ducks. DS1 picked it, and it will last them a good while. Something cutesy might not be as long lasting in that respect.
I'm not impressed with the drop in temperature either. It was freezing here today, but i avoided extra heating by going to my parents house. My mum insists on there heating being on.The kids had sweat rolling down there faces there.

Thanks cha97michelle! Was putting off watching the dreaded dvd, but it had to go back to the midwife today. She says all is well and was pleased that the bump kicked out at her when she was trying to measure him!
All of my ebay sales paid, and after postage I made £16, plus £3.50 on cds. I might sell a couple of the maternity items as well as relisting some of the items that didn't sell this time at a later date.
I have completed one tutoring yesterday and two today. Haven't managed to get any MS, and annoying some have now appeared here when I am at mums next week, and I bet they'll be none there! Oh well!
I got two rolls of childrens border off eb*y for £2.50 incl delivery so pleased with that, it has 'garden creatures' on so will last a while - it is cute (honest) but not too babyish!
OH is seeing if MIL wants to make us a set of nursery curtains, but if not we have a pair on standby (they won't really go but they'll do as a start!)
I've sown my lettuce, toms, courgettes and cucumbers, and part cleaned the house only for the builders to open the window and let loads of brick dust in!
I am worried about how much electricity the builders are using powering their cement mixer off our kitchen plug:eek:, but I suppose it has to be done. I noticed the economy 7 immersion heater was on until 8.15 this morning, and after researching this did seem to be the right time - I'm just normally not at home at this time!
Tomorrow I need to:
-Register tesco sim
-Speak to NUT about really expensive union fees of over £200/ year:eek: other unions seem to offer £160, and one is even half price!!
- Finish cleaning and freecycling.
- Call bank and request savings account to use for presents15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

You can have a maternity membership while you are off. Makes the NUT a bit cheaper. Still expensive though. I ran it after mat leave had started so i got it for a year and was still paying mat leave rate when i first went back and had to adjust to paying childcare. It seemed to help. Glad i have been able to cancel it now though.0

Just popping on quickly to say that I pay £9.50 pm for NUT so really can't understand why you're paying so much. Ring them, it might be a mistakeUpdating soon...0

Are you still on a new teacher rate Courgette? I was paying that for coverage on a part time teaching load of less than 60%. Isn't about £17 per month for full coverage?0 -
Grrr, hope not. I know their intorductory rate wasn't as good as the other unions (I think NASUWT gave you most of the NQT year free) but it was the one I agreed with most so went that way. I won't be impressed if I have to start paying loads more soon!Updating soon...0

I think it is an introductory rate. It's more expensive later on. But by the time your due to pay the higher rate Courgette, you'll be on maternity.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Happy Easter all!
I have had a few nsds and have walked everywhere so used no petrol. I am really trying to reduce spends on petrol and groceries, so that I can squeeze the last few pennies out of the budget and into OPs.
Have had a lovely day with my family, just missing OH who is working.
I am planning on relaxing here, and getting only neccessities, and sorting out any areas if the budget I can reduce.
I've had a letter saying that the electricity dd is going up by £50!!!! I am not happy with this and need to look into it further, and shop around. At least this has shocked OH a bit and he has no excuse now to leave lights and heating on all the time. I just hope I can get this back down, and I know that in summer our usage will dramatically reduce.
On the plus side, my old bedroom at my mums is fully of all possible types of baby items for me to take home. I have also done a mystery shop, got a baby book and the fee of £5 can go into the 'other' kitty towards any expenditure coming up.
Enjoy your eggs!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j
