All going well here. £50 spent at Mr Ts hoping it will last me a month eeked out, with extra milk and fruit.
Bought a 2nd hand baby swing, birth to 25lbs on ebay and collected, it was £20 (rrp £56) its in good condition and I can wash the seat covers. Its really cool with flashing lights and music and a lovely rocking motion!
So really I don't need to buy much more baby stuff, I have the essentials I think. Total cost £200 (so far!!!)
Off to do a tutoring now and then leftover chicken and mushrooms with pasta for tea.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Hi All,
Had a good end of the week, all seems to be up to date at work, and had a nice relaxing weekend so far.
I found £2 last weekend in a field, and £2 in the street this week ~(honestly I really did!) and decided to spend some of it on a black linen wrap maternity dress (ebay), with 40p change! I am hoping that this will be ok for work and evening wear too.
Yesterday I bought about 10 pots of nappy rash cream, some wipes and some baby lotions from boots on their £5 for 5 offer - only spent £15 that is really crazy!
Off for a walk with OH now.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Had my scan and we are going to have a baby boy! Very happy at the news and it all seems so real now - I am so excited!
Back to earth with a crash though, had a really infuriating day at work, and the more sensible me has come to the conclusion that my boss is there to critisise, and no matter what I do I will always have more to do. I guess rather than working myself into the ground when 5 months pregnant I just need to draw the line where I feel comfortable and burger the rest!
At least I am not under supervision like other members of my dept, guess its cause we are being inspected next year - thank goodness I won't be there!
So at work now for me I'll just get as much of the stuff I need to do done, so that I can concentrate on me and oh and baby!! yey!
My mum is so happy at the boy news and is out buying the world I think! I have told her not to go too over the top, its only a little baby and doesn't need all these clothes! (What do I know, 1st time mum!).
In terms of spending, had a nsd, and completed a tutoring, despite my stressed out state!
Right off to realx and watch some tv!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

I wouldn't be without my two either. They give the bestest kisses and cuddles. My DS2 is a real snuggle bunny. Loves his Mummy.
As for the clothes - we have loads but then again mine are the youngest of 5 boys amongst my side of the family, plus a lovely MSE friend has given me a couple of bags of bits from her boy. Sometimes you can never have enough and other times it feels like enough is enough.
All depends on how sicky/pooey your baby is. Boys have a nasty habit of pooping while being breastfed and it shoots up the back of the nappy and out the top. I found this out the hard way a few times. DS2 also dribbled incessantly and still does.
Invest in a few big bibs if this is the case and it will be ok.
Congratulations. It all feels real once you get the news. Bump suddenly has a bit more personality, and we even came up with names both times before the event. I'm not one for surprises really so my way of controlling it.
As for work, whatever you do there is always more in teaching. Do what you can, and then make sure you enjoy what is happening to you. It all helps the bonding process later. Don't miss out on it or you will regret it. I loved being pregnant both times and strange as it seems you miss it when you are not.0 -
Thanks CHA97michelle, for your wonderful sensible advice!
A few relatives and freinds have boys, and have already offered to pass things down to me, and I will watch out for the boy mess! You are right -I reaslised it reading your post - I want to enjoy my pregnancy and tune out of all the rubbish stuff going on!
Have been taking things easier at work and feeling much better. Just decided to forget the im-pass with my boss. Lifes to short to worry about work all the time.
For the last few days I have been completing one tutoring a night, and having NSDs. I will take my tutoring money to the bank, and try to make my March OP as high as I can.
OH is away most of the weekend, so I have a tutoring planned, and going to visit a friend, then just chilling out I think!!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Sounds really good. I know not to overdo it as i didn't enjoy my 2nd pregnancy as much because i was too stressed and busy. It went so quickly i found it hard to attach to the baby till he was here IYSWIM.
The rest of this year will whizz past for you now. I always found the summer term did anyway when working. Especially when i was trying to get coursework out of kids before a deadline, or trying to motivate them to revise, or cram in the last little bit before the exam.
Good sources of clothes there. I find that it is handy to have some older ones for playing in the garden with. Some medium decency ones for visiting people/going to nursery in, and then a couple of best outfits when going to places like parties. Of course that is as they get a bit older.
And of course, once they start moving/eating orange food, nothing ever stays looking nice that long anyway. Especially those tops that have the top half of the sleeve in a dark colour and then white forearms. What a stupid design for kids clothes as the white bit goes horrid and you can't fully stain remove it as they could do with hours of soaking but the colour stops you doing it. Never buy those one.I'm a great source of that type of advice.
