Had a big spend day today (for me)!!

    £7.00 lunch with friends
    £1.00 bath thermometer
    £2.50 4 baby vests
    £10.00 3 tier green house
    £1.00 seeds
    £3.60 cards
£3 maternity skirt (oh dear broken my vow not to buy maternity clothes, NO MORE!)
    Total £28

Mum has also showed me my old room FULL of baby clothes and equipment! She has also bought me (from the charity shop) a couple more maternity tops, a couple of nighties and a cotton dressing gown for hospital.

I feel a spreadsheet coming on as I have so much stuff now but I'm not sure exactly what I've got!!!

    Thanks!!!!!

Well I was super nerdy and made a baby clothes spreadsheet and printed out copies for my mum. She has since bought stuff from the charity shop and updated the spreadsheet, she is so lovely!! She is like me and will spend hours looking for the best deal.

My dad had given me a cheque for £1,000 for anything we need, which is really kind! I know that I could buy lots of baby stuff with this, but I don't want to waste the money, and I could put it in next years isa. I am pretty sure that we will need the £1,000 for other child things in the future.

I have worked really hard this week, and completed 5 tutorings, but 2 cancelled boo!

    Jobs for the weekend:
pay in tutoring money and cheques
    pay cavendish insurance fee
complete threshold application (to apply for higher pay)

Hi, I've just been reading through the mfw threads and just wanted to say I think its fab how you've got things for the baby from Freecycle, charity shops, friends etc. If I had my time again (my two are 12 and 9) I would do the same. I would also have had a much less expensive wedding and feel we wasted so much money on those things. Fair play to you girl, will be following your thread :)

Thanks - I spent quite a bit on my wedding too (£6000) but I did love it! so try not to worry about it if you had a good time!!

Had a good weekend, OH paid for our meals at a nice restaurant with our B and SIL. We went for a walk and actually did stuff together which was great! Also filled out my form for higher pay (took 4 hours!) I'll hand it in in a week or so, after I've finished off a few tasks.

Have got another 10 or so sleepsuits and outfits from a charity shop for £3.60, I'm not going to spend any more until I know boy/girl in 2 weeks :j.

This week I plan to do 6 tutorings, finish of the last few tasks at work, and at the weekend I need to do some small business work, and if the weather is nice I'd like to plant some veg seeds.

    And relax!!

Speaking of relaxing -the nice sunny weather has made me think of holidays and loads of people have kindly offered us family friendly accomodation, and I'd quite like to do some of them, istead of just saying 'yeah thanks' and never actually going..

Caravan in mid Wales by the sea:T
Caravan in Scotland by the sea:T
Visit to family in North Scotland (maybe a bit far with a baby, but loevly scenery up there)

My dads cottage in North East by the sea:T
Visit to my dads house in France.

Well theres definately lots of options for next year there to look forward to!

    Hi Earthgirl
I too am pregnant with my second baby, due 11th August, my DD is 13 months old now and many items were bought from charity shops and family, I wouldn't go mad with loads of baby items even if they are really cute, Its really hard not to because its your first. I didn't know what we were having so had loads of neutral colours but had loads of gifts when she was born. Many she hardly wore as she was 9lb 2oz born so tiny baby clothes didn't fit her.

I am going for a 16wk scan today and I'm hoping they can tell this time what sex it is, if its a boy I know my mum will be on the look out in the charity shops for baby clothes.

Regarding maternity leave I had 9 months off, don't get me wrong its hard but not as hard as you might imagine, I tended to take DD to events that were free such as walks to the park to feed the ducks and it helped me lose the baby weight. I also got married whilst I was on maternity leave so really shopped around for the bargains.

Anyway, enough of me rabbiting on, you are really doing so well keep up the good work.

    Hi All,

In tears at the moment I've had such a bad day :( probably the hormones talking!

I started my day full of energy and purpose, and it has got steadily worse since 11am, so I'm on here for a rant tonight sorry (and maybe a bit of advice!)

Was pulled into the deputies office today about name calling of a child that has been taking place around the school and the pupil has said that it happens in a number of classes - mine being one, I feel so bad about this I had no idea, but will obviously keep my eyes and ears open now, but I did not have an inkling that this was going on. Just goes to show I can be as efficient as I can and do all the silly inititives to the letter but I need to pay attention to whats being said at all times! From now on I will be more vigilant, must do better! Wasn't spoken to very nicely though as I haven't really done anything wrong but was made to feel like I had! My boss says just forget about it as I've done nothing wrong and I shouldn't be made to feel like I have (nobody likes the deputy).

Then my student teacher heeded none of the advice I gave last lesson, and did a terrible lesson, spent another 20 mins going through what I feel is required, lets hope he heeds it for tomorrow or a major discussion is on the cards!

I then went to my new tutoring customer - it was an Alevel student who called up herself to book - I won't do this again. It was about a 20 min drive, and no one was home:(, I phoned and knocked and then got fed up. I left a message but have had no call to apologise - how rude.

I thought I'd go to get groceries instead, and someone banged their car door into mine, just a scratch :(

About an hour ago I've had another tutoring customer call up and I am upset cause I don't know what to do. The man seemed very different to my normal customers. I have no problems working with anybody as long as I am safe - I am going to peoples houses and this is the only time I've ever felt worried about it but when he was on the phone I didn't know what to do, so I took his details and booked him in for next week, knowing I could cancel if need be.

As I said I have no problems working with any special needs, I think he perhaps has aspergers, or something on the autism spectrum, or /and perhaps young mental age (about 12 maybe younger socially?) I have no problems with this but just questions I couldn't ask - How do I really know he understands about paying me? And how do I feel about that knowing that his ability to formulate suitable sentences in English is not great, therefore his propensity to be able to do the same in French will not be great - and I am taking payment for trying to achieve this?
Finally, I am concerned about my safety, I am normally called by parents of teenagers sitting exams, not middle aged men. The number he called on was also witheld - something my OH doesn't like.

My heart is telling me to be fair to everybody and not prejudge, but my head is saying if I am worried about turning up to a middle aged mans house that I have never met before, that I shouldn't do it.

Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow, but I guess I've got to follow my head.

Right feel a bit better now I've got my mess of a day down on paper so to speak!

I'm going to take it easy for a while now, and think positive...

    1. I can be more vigilant in class and deal with anything that arises.
    2. I might have to take a different approach to my student teacher.
    3. I will from now on not take bookings without parental consent - teenagers are too flighty!
    4. I will cancel my tutoring next week with the new man, and not take any bookings where I am not feeling safe or happy.

Tomorrow I need to improve my energy levels (I felt really carp and lethargic today when things started to go wrong) and keep thinking positive.

I need to remember to bring my isa information tomorrow as I want to check I've met my entitlement.

And I need to make sure I concentrate on the most important things, health and happiness of me and my soon to be bigger family!
