Sorry you had a bad day. Can't believe your deputy head - ignore him he/she's an idiot;)......
Hope you have a good day today

Thanks so much SMF2 and thanks for the lovely cheery pictures!!
Have had a better day today, no nasty surprises, and my student teacher has heeded some of my advice and completed a better lesson today.
I am now going to have a bit of a tidy up, and then I've got a nice tutoring to go to (always get a cup of tea and a scone!) and then I'm going to make a puff pastry sausage tart - yum!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Glad you had a better day today hun.
Just my opinion, but I really wouldn't do the tutoring for the man. I have done lots of babysitting over the years and have always given any new client/family a chance, all except for one. A man once rung up asking me to babysit, but I got a strange instinct that something just wasn't right, he was very vague about the children and I felt very uncomfortable and made an excuse. It sounds like you're in a similar situation, your instinct is trying to warn you not to do it and I think our intuition can be very powerful to sometimes. You are especially vulnerable now that you're pg so please think whether you really want to do it, especially with the language and understanding issues as well.
Take care, Sarah xYesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0 -
Wow...we really have had different weeks haven't we! Doh!
Glad today has been better for you though. And like SMF2 said...ignore your deputy. It's not your fault. You're juggling a million things everytime you enter a classroom so it's not really fair to expect you to know everything. Not to mention....kids are sneaky lil things.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

I agree with the advice above, trust your instincts, if it doesn't round right, then don't take this prospective student on. Be polite but firm0

I am sorry you've had a tough week. Some people are not good managers and don't know how to talk to members of staff properly. Probably too used to dealing with grotty kids to know how to interact equally with another adult. It is so easy to miss stuff like that when you are trying to get through your lesson and make sure x, y and z have all been completed.
As for the male client, if your instincts are saying no, then don't go. You don't need to go. You could always just say that you have taken on more than you can manage at the moment. It doesn't sound worth it if you are uncomfortable.
And grrr to the teenage girl who let you down. Not what you need.
Like you say, you can do something about all of those things. Hope the rest of the week goes a lot smoother, and not long now till Easter.0 -
Thank you thank you thank you for all your wonderful comments!
Well since then things have been improving. I had a parents eve on Thursday after which I was buzzing - it was very intense and loads of parents wanted to speak to me, and couldn't get to sleep after.
Yesterday was ok, except I went to collect OH from town after work as he went for a drink with friends, we ended up going for a meal - it only cost £40, sometimes its nice to be inpromptu, but ohs friend was really drunk so we had to leave before dessert (without drinking alchohol, I feel a dessert is my right!) and I could probably have got a voucher for the chain restaurant if we'd planned it - never mind!
The possible dodgy client phoned back OH answered and he wanted to postpone. After speaking to him OH said he wouldn't like me to go there. He phoned back to try to rebook this morning, and I said no, try another tutor I am too busy. He then started to be really strange asking me about how I am etc. (bearing in mind he phoned for less than 5 mins last week) so I am definately well out of that situation - at the least it would have been worrying, at the most dangerous!
This morning I've paid £1000 into my isa to meet the £3,600 entitlement.
I've paid my car tax (£125)
I checked that the airmiles I converted from tesco vouchers have arrived, there was a mix up but they have been transfered now. We seem to have collected 2000 miles in about 6 months, so OH should be able to go to NZ in about 8 years! We have decided convert the tesco vouchers into restaurant vouchers from now on as this will be better value for money, and with a little baby, OH will put off his trip to NZ for a while anyway.
After a not so great week, this weekend I am planning on a bit of me time! I'm staying in all day today and going to do a couple of hours small business work, a bit of cleaning and reading my book.
Tomorrow I going to clean my car, its embarrassingly dirty, and planting some seeds in propagators, ready to go into my heated glass walled cupboard at work! I haven't got loads of motivation to do this, but I love seeing the green shoots poking through - so I'll try to focus on that image!!!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Just to say Ive updated my sig, and with the endowment on track, we need to find under £30,000 to be mortgage free! This is a great target - even OH is pleased and seems enthusiastic!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Briiliant, well done. It's so motivating seeing the outstanding balance coming down :T
Sorry about the rubbish week too. Our headteacher had a go at me the other day because apparently I was late to my lesson. He would absolutely not hear me explain that I had to find the equipment I needed to teach in that classroom (in this case a laptop). We are in a new build school with technology status, we don't have our own classrooms and I was put in a room miles away from where I usually am with absolutely nothing (not even a white board) to teach with. He was really quite rude and it did upset me. It's amazing in a people focussed profession like teaching you can have people who are seemingly incapable of understanding how to go about communicatig with people
Enjoy the weekend off though (off in EG's terms, still sounds pretty busy to me!)Updating soon...0
