How exciting for you! We've not had our 20 week scan yet, will be in the middle of the Easter hols. We can't decide whether or not to find out - I don't want to know but hubby does. I'm torn because I get to overrule on every other pregnancy choice so I might give way on this one

Good advice about not being too busy to enjoy the pregnancy - I feel that's happening to me a little bit. I just can't believe I'm over 18 weeks already!

Courgette - you could get them to write it down for him. Would he be able to keep it secret and not tell you?

    Mortgage-free Glee!
:( Somebody remove my laptop from me quickly as I keep buying things off ebay!

I am soooo mad with myself, I saw a maternity trousers(3) and a skirt bundle for £9.50 incl delivery, didn't really think I'd win, but I did _pale_ Now I feel really mad with myself, as although its a great deal, I don't really need 3 more pairs of trousers and a skirt - I'm only going to be pg for another 4 months! I am just too impulsive to use ebay :embarasse and I would rather OP the £9.50. Ohh well, never mind!

I will go through my wardrobe and sell the equivalent amount as a penance! And I can always re sell the items on ebay later on after the pregancy (or keep wearing them and forget the are maternity!) - I am struggling a bit with one pair of trousers, one skirt and one pair of jeans.

I am really tired today and going to take it easy! I've completed a tutoring, and had a healthy lunch.

Later / tomorrow the plan is-

    1. Gardening if the weather improves
    2. list items on ebay
    3. clean house
    4. small business work

Have a good weekend all x

Thanks!! :rotfl:I LOVE the woman rubbing her bump, its just like me!!!

I know I agree think I was a bit harsh on myself, I can always sell them on again - or sell half of them even!

I am enjoying OH being away, (but I do miss him lots too ... ahem ....of course!) and going to go for a relaxing bubble bath and pamper. I need my rest as tommorrow I am planning an MSE day of activity until I drop!

I have rebudgeted for the last few items that I need to buy to go into the hospital bag. Including all the maternity clothes (:() and bearing in mind I need to get a new cot matrass the total baby spend looks to be £311. Within this I have baby clothes, toys and toiletries for a year I hope, so its not too bad! Some of these things I might be able sell on in the future. The most expensive item was the birth to potty reusable nappies, so I really hope we get on with them! I will be getting the health in pregnancy grant of £180 - which will be great to reduce some of this outgoing- and I do spend more now on fruit as I'm concious of the vitamins needed.

Some good news as well, Dad has offered to come and decorate the nursery - I have a voucher for £10 which should cover paint and a border, then I can get set up!

Looking forward to sorting out the most expensive items of clutter for ebay, and planting some seeds. I will also bake bread and cakes, and go and make sure all heaters are off.

Off to ponder in the bath how I can save more money this month!

Don't beat yourself up about the clothes. The more i read about how people can kit out babies so cheaply i could kick myself. I had so many maternity clothes that i gave my SIL to be 2 carriers full of them in Feb, and another 2 boxes still went back in the loft. I could kick myself with what i spent buying stuff new or going into M.care just about every weekend.

At least i am not as bad as some though.

And my kids had well more than that spent, and didn't need a lot of it. I'm glad i am more savvy now.

    Your totals are great. :T

Thanks, it doesn't feel like it, but you are right I could have gone completely over board, especially as its my first, at least I've tried to be sensible. My mum is not, shes so wonderful she has just bought a wonderful moses basket it sounds so sweet!

Yesterday I had a clean and tidy up, and listed 11 items on ebay, so pleased with that - it took me ages!! Hopefully it will make me some money to pay for my baby spending. I sold some CDS to mm for £3.50 and I am hoping to get some mystery shopsover Easter break to make up some more.

I made bread in the bread maker and it didn't work, I followed the instructions to the letter, I am just a failure with bread :( I had to nip to Mr A today to get the weekly shop. Just needed bread, milk and loads of fruit - total cost £6.33 , so not too bad.

I switched off all the heaters, and have only used low energy lamps, and I'm encouraging OH to do the same.

Took my tutoring money to the bank and had £500.

I have had quite a good day today in terms of money saving. One of the local charity shops had a half price sale on baby stuff, and I managed to restrain myself and only get 6 lovely outfits for about a fiver. I had my spreadsheet with me though and only got items where I had gaps!

In my neighbours skip I liberated a oil canvas of sea and boats, thought it could go in nursery, a blue fleece blanket, and a cushion, for my seat at work! I will mention it to my neigbour, sure she won't mind.

I also emailed a freecyler about some reusable appies last week, and emailed again just on the off chance someone hadn't turned up, and she phoned tonight to say someone hadn't collected and would I like them:j:rotfl:

I made a nice meal with some black pudding oh brought back from the weekend, and am about to snuggle up on the sofa.

Still to do to save/ make money -

    - check banks online
    - overpay for march (can I make £2000?)
    - plant seeds (didn't do this on Sunday)
    - have nsd's rest of week - including taking cake and fruit for work every day.
    - keep checking for mystery shops
    - continue decluttering and selling / freecycling
    - make pic nic for weekend visiting SIL

    Sure I'll think of more!

    Just a quick update,

Have had nsds since Monday. I have over paid the normal £1000 + £1000 in lieu of a month I can't pay due to being on maternity this makes me feel really motivated that I can do it!

I am getting so postage bags for free from a lady from work for my ebay stuff, and the reusable nappies from free cycle were great!

On the other hand have had to switch one storage heater on as OH was to cold.

    Onwards and upwards!
