Well we are having a brick built shed thing that will take up most of our very small yard. So anything that could go in pots would be in constant shade pretty much! Any suggestions? Also due to the construction work (which would pretty much kill everything) wouldn't be able to start it until mid - late September.

    Hmmm....

Potatos need to be in the dark, so I guess they would be ok!

I am asking the garage for my four old tyres and I'm going to grow some like that next year!

Busy day today. Collected last of manure, but I can go back for more if I need to. Was pretty hacked off of shovelling and lifting, and smelling unpleasant, so glad it is over! The manure is good stuff though, and I am the envy of the allotment.

Went to supermarket where I used to work for food tonight, and got loads of chicken legs for 50p, so we had a bbq tonight with allotment veg and salad - Cost 25p each! Still ended up spending almost £30 in shop as I had to buy all the stuff for the weekend, and a few things we had run out of. That means I have spent almost £100 on food in the last two weeks :( arghh!

I started a new tutee today, and got paid upfront for 10 lessons - £220, so I am close to being able to meet my £1000 op target for Aug. I am going to put anything not used or worn on ebay and amazon and see what I can do!

Tomorrow I'm going to add stuff to ebay/ amazon, work on the small business and promote my tutoring business.

Hope I manage to make the last £230!

Another item to add to my list - my gran thinks she owns some land in a sought after village. My dad has checked and there is nothing built on it, it looks abandoned, so maybe she is right?

My dad doesn't want to check it out, but would like me to (can't figure out why? always a financial reason with my dad!) so I might get round to it in the future.

Having a relaxing day today, but painters are driving me barmy - they are painting the outside of the house, really needed doing, and they are doing a great job, painting everything, clearing all gutters and everything for £600.

I need to finish off a bit of promotion work for small business and tutoring business. Then start packing for my outdoor adventures this weekend!

Hi earthy, I think you can find out about ownership of land by going onto the Land Registry website, www.landregistry.gov.uk, I think it costs £3 to get a copy of the title deeds.

Thanks Kittikins I will give it a go!

Had a great weekend although everything that could go wrong went wrong!!

Weather was awful, had to turn back 100ft from top of snowdon as visability was so poor, and the wind would have knocked up off our ledge. Got absolutely soaked through to the skin, and completely exhausted!

It did stop raining, but started again when we tried to put the tent up, so we abandoned it, only to have to go and do it later in the midgie feeding frenzy (I look like a dot to dot puzzle today!).

BUT I had a great time, love being outdoors and challenging myself. Glad to be back home and comfy, if a bit smelly and unkempt!

OH in a right mood- no idea why!

Think I'm going to go to a neigbours to relax and have a few glasses of wine, I LOVE sundays when I don't have to work Monday!

My main focus this week is to get the Aug £1000 op together and in the bank!

Feeling all shocked and upset,my Dad is getting remarried. The lady is nice - I've met her a few times, and I'm glad he will be happy. Completely out of the blue, my mum will be upset. He is also buying a Ferrari which makes me laugh! He loves cars and will really enjoy it.

Think the only thing I'm worried about is telling my mum, she will not get over it, and to a lesser extent the ambiguious and horrible question that no one will want to mention about my dads 4 houses, sports cars etc etc, which I guess will now become the other ladys.

Even though these were our childhood haunts, places or money aren't everything, health and happiness are higher up there I think!

    Congrats dad!

Can't say I've any experience of any of that! My folks are still married (although I'm not sure happily - can't see em ever splitting up though), so I can't imagine how weird it must be when they meet other people.

4 houses and sports cars!!! Blimey...your pa has done alright for himself hasn't he. Still like you say, sounds like you've got some tense times ahead. Fingers crossed everything works out for the best! x

We were always the poorest kids in school (kids just know!) until we were about 10, and then my dads business did really well an he invested well. I had no idea until he picked me up from Brownies one day in a beautiful Porsche! I'd say thanks to my dad we were really comfortable. My dad is my hero I'm really proud of him, he deserves to be happy and do whatever he wants with his houses and money. I'm sure he'll make the right choices.

At least I've inherited his 'waste not want not' attitude'!!

I've got a lot of work on my small business to complete towards the end of this week, and I've got a weekend away with a pal again, walking around staithes area, can't wait!

So today is 'd' day (Diet day) and I'm going to put a bit of effort into eating healthily, reasonable portions, and getting exercise. I'm going on my first walk with the outdoors club tomorrow, and will do something later on in the week.

Also keeping my eye on freecycle for stuff I need, and getting some of my list of financial bits and bobs crossed off. Should go to the allotment and dig up all the remaining potatos, but after spending a weekend very wet and dirty, I kinda like being clean :)!
