Well, got my first ever payment from quidco (Didn't set it up 'till last month), and put tyres (£265 :( ) on home account, so managed to scrape another £1000 cash out of my current account to overpay, so for August I have managed to overpay £1,630!! yey!

I want to get some statisics together about how much I've overpaid and how much interest I'm being charged daily, so watch this space!

Well I've worked out that I've overpayed £18,974.35
since January 09. But I still can't work out the interest per day!!

If I owe £45,148 at an interest rate of 2.5% what is that per day? Im getting £36- surely this is very wrong!

Can anyone help my brain is frazzled!

Thank you twinklie and thrifty girl, I am so bad at maths and tend to avoid whenever possible!

Would you be able to give me the calculation so I can look at it myself?

I am very pleased, with my little bit of maths today (swear its correct, even I can add!) originally wanted to overpay £12,000 in 2009, but I might try to overpay another £6000 sept - dec, so my overall OP for the year would be around £25,000. OH will soon see the sense(and the results)from OPing if I can keep it up!

Going to collect a pine wardrobe and chest of drawers of a freecycler in the village, been to see them already, they are lovely, and just need OH to come home with the trailer!

Edit: BOOOOO Freecyler sold the furniture to another person who contacted her, despite agreeing a time with me, how rude! Its her decision, and I wasn't going to pay!! Not going to let it bother me, I've learnt my lesson and am going to watch my fav program, have a buuble bath with OH instead!! Yey!

  • Maths on a Friday night.....hope you have a few drinks in hand but here goes.....

Mortgage balance multiplied by interest rate divide by 365:

    £45,148 x 2.5/100 = £1,128.70 per annum

    £1,128.70/365 = £3.09 per day

That's absolutely amazing, EG! I'm extremely impressed . I knew you were busy but that amount is staggering!!! Is it just by being extremely frugal and doing lots of tutoring? You're an inspiration!
