    Mortgage-free Glee!
Managed to find an outdoors club in my area, and its only £20 a year to join, with loads of organised walks, climbs and outdoor activities, a weekend away each month and holidays (obviously you have to pay for the holidays etc. but the walks and biking are free). This is great, so excited I don't really care that the sun has gone in!

Yesterday I had a lovely day, went for a long walk, washed the car and pottered in the garden, then read for hours - perfect! Glad I had a relaxing day outdoors as today weather is pants:o

Upshot of pants weather is I have crossed loads of stuff off my list of banking/saving money. I have still got stuff I should be doing, so today I'm going to:
    • see if I can get free manure - if so collect it tomorrow afternoon (not a nice job!) Got it at
    • clean the house
    • Write to the mortgage and life insurance company and find out details of the policy OH took out many moons ago! They won't do it over the phone:mad:
    • sort out my tutoring resources Didn't do this as printer stopped working, but I did sew fleece lining into my curtains instead :)
    • complete tutoring of two hours
    • water tomatos
    • cook using stuff I have already.
My wine has arrived from tesco, got free delivery, and airmiles as we are saving up to get OH to NewZealand next year (not worried about him coming back hehe) didn't do it through quidco though, what an idiot - still I know for next time! Wine averages at £3.80 a bottle, about £1.20 per bottle saving on last month.

As I am using food up rather than spending, I have made a carrot cake with some leftover carrot slices, but had to substite with pine nuts and plain icing, still it should be ok ;).

Very productive day, all jobs done, including organising free manure for allotment, which I have arranged to bag and collect tomorrow afternoon:) !

I will print and tidy tutoring stuff tomorrow, and then after a few more jobs I will be organised to reduce our costs and make my OPs for the rest of the year ( trying to encourage myself anyway!!!).

I have about £550 cash from tutoring and people paying me back money to put towards my Aug OP, but I'm going to struggle to find the remaining £450 as I want to keep some cash in my current account to pay for car service and MOT :( Will have to do some creative thinking about my bank balances!

Can't seem to get any MS but tutoring is going well, so I guess I should concentrate on upping my income from that, and also keeping our houshold costs low, off to think of some more ideas! EGx

  • Hello EG - thought that I'd just drop by and say hi on your thread.... Just been browsing through your posts, and have to say that I like your use of lists.

I jot mine down in an old journalist's notebook which I update daily, but a lot get carried forward - maybe putting them on a public forum would encourage me to get through my things to do more quickly! The again... :rotfl:

EG, just noticed from the other thread we are both on you have a target weight of 7st 8. Are you trying to get up to that or drop down to it??? I've had issues trying to get to 8 stone for years and now I'm 8st 2/3. I'm very proud of my lil self. :D

Not at all....I do list after list on my thread...I reckon if people aren't interested they'll just skip it. Alternatively it might remind them of something they need to do!

So you were trying to get upto 8st?

No my problem is cakes and biscuits and wine - I'm trying to get down to below 8st this year - thats around a stone to loose  Thanks for mentioning this, I kinda forget about it until I try to get into my jeans!

Yeah I've always had weight issues...made me miserable during my teenage years. The number of times I was accused of having an eating disorder (especially on nights out) started to take its toll! I recommend marriage and teaching for weight gain! Ha ha.

Conversely I wonder if being a divorced student is good for weight loss? Ha ha

I think it's because I drink more vino too (oophs) although I haven't been lately for obvious reasons. At the minute mine is lack of exercise as well due to assignments and general tiredness....or laziness that can be translated too!
