    Still to do this week:
    - check i'm collecting tesco points at eon
    - check electricty usage at eon and look for ways of reducing

    Hi earthgirl

Just read your latest post. If you have registered your Tesco Clubcard with us it will be highlighted on your bill. It is on the page listing your payments and will tell you how many points you have earned on that particular bill.

If you have an online account, the Tesco Clubcard will be shown on the first Your Account page.

Give us a call if the card is not shown. It can easily be registered. Alternatively, if you are online with us you can register it yourself on the website.

Really good idea to look at reducing your electricity earthgirl. We can help with this.

Talk to our Energy Efficiency team for advice about cutting back. Ask them for a copy of our booklet, 100 ways to help save money by saving energy. It's free and has lots of great advice. :j

Also, check out the interactive house on our website. This is another good source of energy saving ideas.

Ask us if you are unsure about your usage. We will be happy to give you the info.
Good luck reducing your electricity.

I'm loving the E.On online graphs for gas/elec usage, can compare to last year. Are you registered for online stuff too?

Really good to hear you like our online graphs Mortgage Reduction Novice. :T

Have you had a chance to look at the interactive house? If you have, what do you think?

Always looking for feedback - both good and bad - so we can try and improve.

Oh my earthgirl. Never read your thread before and I've got to admit I'm exhausted now!! Seriously don't know how you do it. I teach Science admittedly I've only just finished my NQT year but there is not a chance i could do what you do!! I'm so envious of your energy. My OH is exactly like you...he could run round forever!!

Still, I'll get there one day...should really get round to MS job hunting which is the reason I actually came on the net...oophs!

Ha Ha, if you could only see me snoozing on the sofa!!:o

Don't overdo it though twinklie, I remember doing my NQT (many moons ago :o) and working on the saturday and sunday to pay off my credit card bill - I was exhausted and was quite snappy at work! I'm much more chilled now.

I know you are working on MS - I can't seem to get any. Have you thought about tutoring - apply to agencies and perhaps even do your own advertising. Perhaps not much call for science at the mo, but I'm also teaching English to esl pupils. Its keeping me busy at the moment, one per day, so at least I feel I'm doing something with these amazing holidays!

Yeah tutoring isn't a bad idea I did my TEFL before I did my PGCE so technically I could do something like that. I need the holidays this year though. So perhaps next year unless life gets in the way.

I've been checking out our energy usage - its down on last year - this is accidental! To improve I am going to -

Change living room lamp for one with energy saving bulb in and use this insead of the less efficient lights.
    Make the four draft excluders.
Put a letter box draught excluder on front door.
    Finish lining curtains.
Continue to turn everything off when not in use

I liked the house for an energy saving novice it was good!

As I did a little more research into how to save energy cheaply,i.e. I don't have the money to invest in solar panels etc.) I thought it missed out draught exclusion/excluders, letter box excluder, unless these are not effective?

Also it would have been good if it suggested products/ list of actions for me to take at the end of my tour, and some links, or perhaps it did if I selected the actions I would take? Maybe I did it wrong?

Overall good and a lot more interesting than a list!

    Today I've
    - given OH a HM card for out anniversary - its lovely imo!
-Done stuff that I normally pay beautician to do (ow)
-Dug over, rotavated and planted winter veg at allotment
-Done a little bit of promotion work on small business

Absolutely exhausted now! Think I've sprained my wrist as well.

So last few hours before OH go out for a cheap italian. I should

    -finish filing
    -finish small business promotion

No inclination, but at least they don't involve lots of movement!

Really pleased you like the interactive house earthgirl and thank you for the positive comments. :T

Draught exclusion is definitely effective. It is included in the energy saving booklet I mentioned earlier but you are absolutely right it isn't in the house. Will feed this back as I agree, it should be.

There is a link to energy saving products on the left hand menu. You can also take part in an energy saving survey. This will suggest some practical measures you can take right now to cut your usage. Is this what you have in mind?

As you go round the house you can select individual items where you think you can make a change. If you click on the white cross and then go for the "I will do this" option the total savings you can expect will be shown at the bottom of the picture. Not sure if you have tried this?

Let me know if you need any more advice. Will be happy to help. :)

    Malc

PS Hope your wrist is ok.
