SGMC I don't think OH will be involved with review, he is working, but I will do the ground work and then discuss it with him, again another great suggestion to get him involved and supporting me instead of the opposite!

Another NSD had, and some frees now to work on business and get organised!

    Hi Earthgirl! :hello:

I have just had a read through your diary, and wanted to say WOW! I am totally in awe of what you have already achieved - you should be very proud of yourself. To reach our goal MF date, we also need to OP by £1,000 per month, which I am really struggling with at the minute. Our income is pretty good, and I feel we should be able to do it, but we are finding it difficult.

Do you have any hints or tips?

Thank you and best of luck,
    ATB xx

I am really not someone to ask for tips, I'm afraid. We just try to spend as little as possible and pay all of MY wages into the mortgage (about £1800 per month) and live on about £500 for bills, phones, petrol, clothes, food, and social lives!

My biggest saving area is growing salad, fruit and veg. Not buying clothes, getting hand me downs and keeping an interesting but cheap social life!

    Do you have any tips?

Major Overpayment news (well for my standard anyway!) of £2,693.09

I cancelled my share save when I decided I was no longer going to keep on my job at the supermarket, and I got a cheque through today for £2,693.09 for the money I've paid in already.

So I will pay this in in the next week or two. If I'd worked there for another year and the share price was good I could have made more, but I was really unable to give up the time to work there, and my tutoring pays more!

I still want to raise another £1000 + to go with it. I have £540 already this month from tutorings block bookings, and I will check what I have in my personal account to make this up.

However, I need to keep checking that I don't spend too much on home and food bills, or I will have to top this account up soon!

Anyway, I have had a few sucesses, a few slips.

I've had a nsd yesterday, but today bought a cake at break I was starving!! I went to a charity event tonight and spent £15 on raffle tickes, and didn't win a prize :( However at Tuesday nights charity cocktail party I won a handmade rocking horse! Fabuolous (I have no kids!)

I overspent on my food budget for the week, and spent £4 on massivley reduced priced yoghurts, a whole chicken and a rack of lamb! So total spend £12.

Had the first of my alltoment potatoes and salad they are sublime!

Ah well, I'm still well motivated, every little helps!

I will have a nsd tomorrow, going to a friends for dinner. I've gpt cheap tickets to Scotland for OHs parents Golden Wedding. Should be a fab night, I willtake it esy on the drink, this it will be expensive. Staying over an will make full use of pools gyms etc.

    Best wishes to everyone,

    EG X

    Well done earthgirl :D

Is the rocking horse going straight for sale or do you have a person in mind to give as a gift? (I'm assuming that you have no kids you won't be keeping it...)

Bargin for the yoghurts, lamb and chicken!

    Have a good weekend :)

Decided to keep the rocking horse, as it is so lovely, and we may have kids yet (I'm 28 so in the next few years hopefully!) Had a lovely weekend and stayed true to my new resolution - to still enjoy life, but try to keep a hold on the pennies.

I spent about a fiver on refreshments and a magazine, but the mag had a free haircut voucher in it, so if that comes through its paid for itself.

I didn't spend anything else, and OH and I are planning a ns week apart from fruit and milk (£8) and a meal out next saturday.

Didn't get chance to sort out finances, so might do that tonight. I need to know exactly how much we have left to pay on the mortgage, how much the endowments stand at, and how much is in our home and personal accounts.

The thought of the total being brought down by my overpayment is really motivating!
