Has anyone used BOL?

  • My book has arrived now 12 days after ordering - sounds as though I have done alright :)
I'm sorry but I'm not Mike!
  • I use them all the time. Delivery is usually 3-5 weeks for me. I don't care, the prices are great on new release hardbacks and some boxsets and I have a backlog of about 20 books so am in no hurry.

i ordered Martin's book back in September and it took a couple of weeks to get to me.i ordered on Monday nite and just looking at my account it's been dispatched.
  • I've also ordered a fair few books over the past 18 months and as far as I recall, all have been received between 7 and 14 days after the order. Very good value for money, especially with free P&P.
  • My orders take 4 weeks to deliver, but I agree that they are the cheapest. On my last delivery, for 3 books, 2 were actually the wrong books. Over the past 4 weeks I have sent 3 e-mails and tried to telephone (after 10 minutes on an 0870 number I gave up). No response from BOL accept for standard acknowledments.

Any advice, or do I need to gto via small claims?

Well I ordered at the beginnign of October, said despatched on oct 13th and I'm still waiting, I have emailed them several times, got replies twice saying delay due to warhouse move should be 28 days, well its been ages and still no books, bought for a birthday at end November, so they are a waste of space!!!

My order in October was despatched on October 20th still not here yet. The order I placed at the weekend has despatched on 2 December. I don't think that despatched means what we think it means.
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.
  • Ordered first week of October they have my money but suprise suprise no book . I have emailed several times and phoned, completely sick of being lied to. Next step will be sending recorded delivery request for my money back because they have been unable to complete the contract within 30 days I have already done this by email.
Would not be suprised if this book supplier goes belly-up. Money savers do not deal with this company it is imaterial how reasonably priced an item is if you do not get the book and they keep your cash >:(.

  • I've used Bol on quite a few occations, very good value but delivery is slow so order in plenty of time, but as long as you are prepared to wait no probs.

Another very good site with excellent delivery time is https://www.thebookpeople.co.uk, they are spot on!!

I've been using BOL for years, way before they re-organised themselves & made up this rule about 'joining' and buying 1 extra book within 6 months, or whatever it is.

I can honestly say I've never had a problem with them, all my stuff has always come within 3 weeks. At the prices they charge I'm quite happy to wait a few weeks.

My last order was 3 books for Christmas gifts, I ordered on the 23/11, they dispatched on the 25th and I got them on the 30th. OK, not instantaneous, but perfectly acceptable, especially as I saved over £20 on high-street prices and had free delivery.

They don't have the massive amount of stock that Amazon have, but their 60% off deals are usually on the latest popular books & can't be beaten.
