Out of stock at JL and I'm not surprised at that price - looks more like teaser than a real item to buy on the JL site.
Was in stock first thing this morning there were eight available, I watched over about 30 mins as the quantity went lower lower and I added one to my basket thinking it would reserve it (just incase I decided to buy it) but when I went into it it just stated oos!0 -

i got one from comet down from £300 to £179 and had £50 of vouchers so i got it for £1290

The John Lewis Acer seems to be back in stock at £199 with 2 yrs guarantee. Anyone know the difference between that one and the Acer on the HMV site for £189??0

Thanks Buglawton I will probably go for the 3 cell one as it will be for taking around with me and also for using around the house (when I will easily be able to plug it in to charge).
Just been looking again and I found that John Lewis have the acer in a copper brown colour for £199 with a 2 year guarantee. If they have these in store then I would deffinitly go for that one as the 2 year guarantee would be more than useful!
Just a question though, I want to buy in store if possible and will be going on Thursday to look around but, does anyone know if they have a range of netbooks in store at John Lewis because there doesnt seem to be any option to reserve one which I find strange.
Thanks
Dan
Yes, they normally have a good range on display. I bought an Acer Netbook from JL a couple of years ago. Very pleased.0 -

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.0 -
Not sure, but please don't buy from PC World. Their after-sales service (sic) is c**p:mad:0

Hi, I'm looking at netbooks to help me spend my commuting time more productively, has anyone had experience of using excel, word, outlook etc on a netbook, is it practical? Would you recommend a particular model?
Thanks in advance

All those programs (or the free OpenOfffice equivalent) will work fine on any netbook that runs a version of Windows.0

Went to John Lewis last week and the cheapest they had instore was £250 so we went to currys (Liverpool City Centre) where they had 1 asus for £199, asked the guy and he stated that currys dont stock any acers under the £200 mark, we said it was on the website but he just was not much help so we went to the Aintree store where they were really helpful and we managed to pick up the red acer for £199!0
