  • I think the money will probably bounce back ,ing are going to want all the money with them to start with, then ask us if we would like to keep it there. They know most of our transfers were panic driven. Its the dutch guarantee rather than british thats my problem.Maybe worth checking KE accounts first.

I do think it's a bit bad that whereas with KE we were covered by the UK compensation scheme, now that ING have taken over the first wodge of cash needs to be recovered from the Dutch authorities, which surely is going to be more hassle.

I certainly didn't ever agree to that.

Well in that case, let the FSA know that you'd like your money to be classed as having been in a bank that's gone bust and that instead of it going to ING, you'd like to wait a few months and reclaim it from the FSA scheme instead."

Alright mate, calm down. We're not all experts here and we're all worried. Patronising and slightly aggressive attitudes do not help.

If that is aimed at me I am being neither of those things. I don't think its as simple as you seem to think. As KE depositors we do not simply have the choice of electing to go with the FSCS scheme.

no agressive attitude here. please keep silly opions to yourself whilst we are discussing the real issues of the momment

No it doesn't! You will only need to recover from the Dutch authorities IF ING subsequently went bust too. As it is, they've taken over the accounts so will be servicing those accounts with their own money, so no need to recover/claim money from any government/compensation scheme."

    Oh right!! My mistake!

Suggestion - When all this is over with, can I suggest we bring our money home and support our domestic banking system. I know...globalisation probably cancels the effects out but....

Did "Working Lunch" agree with Channel 4, that our money will be bounced back to KE/ING?
