If that is aimed at me I am being neither of those things. I don't think its as simple as you seem to think. As KE depositors we do not simply have the choice of electing to go with the FSCS scheme.

no agressive attitude here. please keep silly opions to yourself whilst we are discussing the real issues of the momment

Thinker - my comments weren't directed at you so no need to worry.

I am very concerned about the "real issues" as is everyone. The info I have got from this forum has been extremely helpful so thanks to all who have posted useful and reassuring comments. At the moment though there is no telling what is going to happen from one day to the next so I am still quite sceptical that recovering my savings is going to be either speedy or straightforward.

Did "Working Lunch" agree with Channel 4, that our money will be bounced back to KE/ING?

Did they say when, what date this will happen?. (Nope)

yes, kinda. ING are being a bit uncooperative, but apparently money coming back.

Their 'expert' seemed to be strongly suggesting that as a UK subsidary, KE would be guarenteed by the exchequer / FSA in any event.

We've all heard the blanket 'British savings in icelandic banksare safe'. But we've heard no specific guarentee from Brown or Darling Re KE. I think the point that ING has our assets has been missed i.e. dutch comp. system

I personally would be amazed if anyone gets any money thru today......more like this time next week imho....

Okay Fudgie1980. Misunderstanding. Apology accepted lol
  • Their "expert" was a little misleading I think....she said the FSCS are writing to all savers, I believe that they are only writing to those 3,00 people with KSF rather than KE accounts....

...to be fair to her whe probably doesn't have the sam motivation/obsession with this as we currently do......

I'm very concerned that no one on this forum has received their transfers yet!
Reckon all the money is still being held in a suspense account in Iceland and is not being released!
    Watch this space!icon8.gif
    CHAPS 8th received 20th into HSBC A/C
BACS on the 17th and 20th received 22nd into HSBC A/C
    CHAPS fee refunded 29/10
I can survive any crisis - I have kids!!

Indeed...just gotta sit tight and wait...
  • I firmly believe that the reality of this is that there is no money in our accounts. The UK govt will be having to fund the accounts for transfer to ING...

No hometune. dont worry. Effectively KE money hasnt left accounts even though it is showing. ING has KE assets. Iceland Gov not invloved now with KE. The issue is when the transfer mess will be sorted out and how mant 'errors' will there be I think
