Who is going to pay my over-draft charges caused by the delay in getting the money back into my current account?
Rhetorical question....but you get my point.4kW 8.33 Eternity (2.5kW SSE 1.5kW WSW). Glinton, Cambridgeshire.0 -
Personally, I am fine with everything now, PROVIDED ING DONT GO BUST. This isnt assured, you presumably saw the markets today and the DOW hasnt opened yet. How can these loses be sustained?0

Dare I say, charity starts at home northern5. It certianly did for Iceland
true ... I wonder how things are in Iceland? It wasn't the Icelandics fault that their banks grew like this and its not their fault their govenment has done what its done. But if their country has gone bust, surely that is going to affect all of them in a really bad way?0 -

that's what I'd recommend. Wait for the dust to settle before you try withdrawing.0 -
Yes northern5. And I certainly feel for them. But, I repeat my earlier statement in these mad times. I just heard about a Childrens hospice here that could its 6 million based in iceland - fund raised money0

I telephoned ING yestarday evening to ask them where my missing money was and was told about the backlog etc. The very efficient lady took may details, transaction details etc and my telephone number and she told me that some one would phone me asap.
An hour a go someone from customer services telephoned me to say my withdrawl to my lin ked account will be honoured asap and my money was safe. But they are giving priority to chaps withdrawls regardless of what date they were actioned so my withdrawl of the 6th will just have to wait its turn sometime late next week so approx 10 days from here on in before i see it.
I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm going to be first in, last out on this one!:mad:0 -
Like everyone else I did a BACS transfer last Sunday and still nothing. I think that the only thing left is to let ING know that it they don't pull their finger out and get the transfers moving we will attract as much media attention to this as possible with a view that it will damage their reputation with potential new customers.
Words fail.
Can you not even comprehend the simple fact that had ING not entered into the H.M. Treasury brokered deal to take on KE UK savings deposits, there'd be a damn sight bigger mess?
Who d'you think is ultimately going to fund all those IceSave customers who took a punt on a bank with a dodgy compensation scheme yet are now -- regardless of their recklessness -- to be compensated 100% for every penny?
It's not the FSCS alone that will carry IceSave customers. It's the UK itself -- i.e., the UK taxpayer.
If ING hadn't taken the FE accounts under its wing -- and out from FSCS protection (max £50,000) to Dutch protection (max £76,000) -- then KE's failure might well have lumbered the UK taxpayer with yet MORE to find in compensation: after all, if IceSavers (who in my opinion certainly don't deserve it) are to get 100% compensation, then KE savers certainly merit the same treatment.
You should be grateful that your money is with a well-founded global bank. Not coming on here foaming at the mouth because you're not being treated the way you think.
Lots of posters on here repeatedly advise patience and understanding. They're not doing it because they're gullible fools but because they know that the alternative will achieve. . . absolutely nothing at all.0 -
Sorry I haven't read the last few pages so perhaps others have already posted similar but thought I would tell you that the £2k BACS transfer I did on Monday (6th) has arrived in my linked account (at least I assume that's what it is, the description is TRANSFER FROM OUTWARD PAYMENTS LEVEL 5,. REF: FULHAM3 696 0000840)
The £12.5k CHAPS from Wed. not arrived yet but at least I can now be sure that it will

YESSSSS! £35,000 turned up in my First Direct account a few minutes ago.
I initiated a BACS transfer on Sunday.
Just need to get £13,000 back from Icesave now!0 -
Good news!
Withdrew from KE on the weekend by BACS (because I needed the money). No sign of my money in linked account or KE since then.
Just checked my linked account and I have:
10 Oct 2008 CHAPS/International £502.80
So, not only has the money arrived but they sent it by CHAPS
Honestly wouldn't have minded waited if they'd been upfront but the lack of info was very worrying. My brother has a KE account which we emptied out on Monday, will find out later if that money has arrived too. That was also not showing in KE or his linked a/c.0
