Dare I mention the loss of interest...0

He asked if my withdrawal had taken place before the 8th Oct or afterwards, so this apparently has some significance but he didn't elaborate. Hopefully he will say more on Working Lunch.
He said the first payments will go through today, but I note that nobody on this thread has received any money yet. I suspect this is going to be a long wait for some of us, particularly those who attempted withdrawals on the wrong side of 8 October.
When he asked was yours before or after the 8th, what was your answer, if you don't mind me asking, and what was his?
Mine was done 8am 7th.0 -
Well done, Luke! You are a star, and exceedingly brave! I look forward to seeing you on the telly.
Does anyone have any clue about whether interest will still be paid on the missing money?0 -

Thank very much.
<snip for brevity>
.. and whose money do you think Mr Darling is using? Yes, yours and mine!
He has no option to do what he did (so please let's not get into a politiocal argument here) but do not forget that he is gambling with our money. The more he needs to sort out the mess, the more you and I will pay for it in years to come, be sure of that! I'd personally guarantee your money in the bank if I had the opportunity to claw it back from everyone in the future by raising taxes!0 -
Quick reminder
I've just added a new poll thread here to vote on how much is currently missing via BACS/CHAPS and linked it to this thread, could everyone now visit and cast your vote, all votes are anonymous.

just seen that KE have added the following to their website:
When Kaupthing Edge encountered difficulties, withdrawals were not able to be completed. This is now being resolved and we are in the process of clearing the backlog of pending transactions. ING Direct will honour all withdrawals as soon as possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this period.0 -
I don't have a TV so wondered if anyone who watches the programmes at lunchtime can gives us a brief summary of what was said - particularly if they have spokespeople from the companies involved on.

This is what has been worrying me all along. I made my transaction on Tuesday 7th and I have a feeling I will have to be looking for compensation as opposed to the transaction going through.0 -

Mine was done 8am 7th.
I made my withdrawal aroun 9 a.m. on Monday 6th october. My understanding is that transactions that took place before 8 October were under Kaupthing's control, while transactions after 8 October were under ING's control. I don't know what this means in practical terms, but my guess is that withdrawals before 8 October are more problematic.0
