Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

The absolutely first you'll hear for very earlier CHAPS ones is tomorrow as per all the sites, I imagine most will start during next week. Sit tight!0

Done a bacs transfer on 7th (amount in the hundreds) - KE account shows money as gone but still not yet arrived in linked account...0

I just spoke to ING's press officer, who is in the car on the way to BBC to appear on Working Lunch to discuss the missing BACS and CHAPS payments. He assured me that the problem is purely due to backlog of transactions, but when I asked him to confirm where the funds currently are he was unable to give me a clear answer. He asked if my withdrawal had taken place before the 8th Oct or afterwards, so this apparently has some significance but he didn't elaborate. Hopefully he will say more on Working Lunch.
He said the first payments will go through today, but I note that nobody on this thread has received any money yet. I suspect this is going to be a long wait for some of us, particularly those who attempted withdrawals on the wrong side of 8 October.0 -
Will BACS work at the weekend?
Why don't KE/ING just tell us if the money will be paid into our nominated account or go back into the KE account? I would feel better if I could see that the money is there.0 -
ING have started to clear the backlog:

Firstly, as I've said before this forum has been a Godsend, so thanks a million for everyone who has helped reassure me and the hundreds of others of poor souls who have had the worst week of their life (so far) worried to their wits end that their life savings had evaporated. Thanks very much.
My user name says it all. Mr Darling I cannot say how deeply grateful I am to you and your team for your swift acction. It's becoming clearer to me that the KE accounts were frozen last weekend when you realised that the game was up for KE and ICESAVE. Your actions in swiftly negotiating a transfer to ING has not only saved my money (way above 50K) and that of thousands of others. By avoiding the use of the compensation scheme you have saved the taxpayer millions too. I for one will never forget this act. I owe you a debt of gratitude and in return I am giving £1,000 of my savings (whenever I do eventually get them) to one of the charities hit by this disaster. THANK YOU Mr DARLING a million times over.
I am not party political but I could not see Cameron doing what Brown and Co has done for us. I and my family are just ordinary middle class Joes who have saved all their life and are getting ready for retirement. I can't help but think that given a choice between protecting the people and the Banks Mr Cameron would be much more inclined to help out his banking buddies.
Not here to make a political statement, just here to say ....
THANK YOU GOD.
THANK YOU Mr DARLING.
THANK YOU ING.
THANK YOU FORUM CONTRIBUTERS.
If it had been left to the Icelandic Government we'd have been stuffed. That fact that Mr Darling used all the powers that were available to him was fantastic in my book Britain should put Britain First.
I shall be leaving over 70K in my ING account. Well need to spread it around anyway I suppose now. It's probably as safe, if not a safer place, than anywhere else.
Please give a little of what the Government has saved us to a UK charity that isn't as well off. Please also give some thought to the poor souls who had money in Icelandic offshore accounts where it now looks like they will not have the same protection we have.
Thanks for everything.0 -
