Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

the reason I didnt complete the petition is because of the title.0

I am sure you are right bud. But by my quick reckoning that means you had circa £300k in your account (and the WORRIER, twice that).
Didn't you consider that a bit wreckless? The Icelandic banks have been flagged as being risky for many months. I only had money in there because I was confident in the £35k guarantee, but there is no way on the planet I would have had 300 grand in there..... unless I had 300 million somewhere else I suppose ;-)
Unnecessary. People do what they think is right at the time based on the information at hand. Whatever the amounts, we just want it back.
Nothing in my receiving account this morning.0 -
Here is an official response from ING. I have just come off the phone to Martin *****, Press relations department at ING Head office.
He has assured us that the backlog of BACS & CHAPS transfers ARE to start moving today, although he didn't give any specific timescales. He promises us that they have committed extra Staff to clearing the backlog.
He was VERY helpful and stressed the fact that they have only recently acquired the business only 'hours' ago, and they completely understand our concerns.
Martin (not ML, PR Martin) has also taken Media related calls this morning, relating to the same subject, so looks like it could have some Airtime today via news channels.
Here's hoping.....

Don't think anyone has posted this yet:
When Kaupthing Edge encountered difficulties, withdrawals were not able to be completed. This is now being resolved and we are in the process of clearing the backlog of pending transactions. ING Direct will honour all withdrawals as soon as possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this period.0 -

This is to give one of our news interviewees some numbers to quote.
Thanks.
I'm missing a lot more than 20 as I suspect are many. Many people stuffed in the max FSCS limit which was formally 35 then up to 50, so I'd put the figure from people on this thread of around 7 million.
But I'm 99% confident the money will start to appear from next Monday either back in KE (most likely) or to the linked accounts (less likely).0 -

Yes, think the number of people is about right, but if like me, some feel very foolish for having invested such a huge amount, I would imagine the amount is way above that - seen some posts for £250K and ashamed to say mine is double that - so your average may need to be increased I would think.
Just sitting waiting for that post that says "Money back in my nominated account" and like many on this thread we may get to sleep that night.
Hope everyone appreciates how valuable this thread has been for our sanity and thanks for all your hard work.0 -
First time for me on here ... I feel it's important for everyone to get some idea of volume of people in this situation. CHAPS request from KE on 8th October for £33,000 - debited immediately but still hasn't reached target bank.0

Why should our money be bounced back? ING should just be in the process of clearing the backlog of CHAPS/BACS transfers and then "business as normal" I would have thought once everything is sorted, or perhaps I'm totally wrong ... hope not!Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0

A summary of my position for those keeping score:
£34,600 in KE (Chapped out Tuesday)
£28,500 in Icesave (BACSed out sunday)
Neither transfers arrived.0 -
bytie bit,
Like you, I'm waiting for money too (£35k+) but starting another pointless bandwagon in the form of this petition (I assume you started it as there's only one signature) is a waste of time and further fuelling the panic.
Also, I don't like your petition title "All the people hate Iceland" - I've never been there but I certainly don't hate Iceland or its people, and I'm sure few who sign your petition hate Iceland either. Let's not get too partisan about this
Sit tight and wait a few more days.
Quite correct TommyGun. I will also NOT be signing that petition as it has absolutely no credibilty. In fact, I may start a petition against signing that ridiculous petition!!!
Let's wait and see what happens, with a cool head.No reliance should be placed on the above.0
