    Many thanks.

 Hi, has anyone read the home page? It was updated at 6.00pm tonight. We are really worried, we stupidly had our life savings in a KE account - worked out we are losing £100 a day in interest - so you can guess what a large amount we are talking about - were ready to retire and feel its all gone - red wine and sleepless nights have been the order of the week. We did a CHAPS transfer on Tuesday via the phone and as that didn't seem to work did another on Wednesday via internet, as initially our log in was blocked - we thought it was us in panic that was keying in the wrong details, now we realise many people couldn't log in either - so we are sitting here reading all the posts and can't understand why BBC. ITV, Channel 4, Sky not reporting anything about individual savers - please if anything comes on the news about individuals can you post back.

We know we been stupid and no one would have much sympathy with us, but we were taught to save and work hard - now we are thinking our kids were right SPEND SPEND SPEND - only wish we had it to spend.

Don't know why I am rattling on - just needed to get my feelings down on paper - husband gone into his shell, I am just trying to remain positive - he worked long hours and hard work all his life for THIS.

Somebody give me something positive to read before we hit another bottle of red!!

Keep up the good work all your forum members - it has been a little bit of solace knowing we are a community all fighting together.

Would you think we could claim for the lost interest now our LIFE SAVINGS are lost in cyber space - to date it is £400 and rising.

Why did I call myself THE WORRIER - that was a year ago when I first joined - never thought this would happen.

Hey, hang in there mate, we are losing £50 a day, OK not as much as you but very confident that we will get our money back, just sip the wine and enjoy, you WILL GET YOUR MONEY BACK (sort through this thread for the links)

That was when we had Lindsay Sinclair as CEO

Thankfully he's gone now and our new CEO knows what hes doing :)

Apart from the fact that I'm reckoning you should be in worldwide charge of ING's Customer Services Department. . .

Seriously though: ING did everyone here a favour by going through with the HM Treasury brokered deal.

And you've done everyone a favour by contributing here.

As I'm delighted to learn of the departure of Lindsay Sinclair, and thus the return of commonsense to ING, methinks I'll leave my KE funds with ING. It's probably the least I can do in view of the time and trouble you've devoted to this thread.

Again -- and this, as you know only too well, is from one who certainly had little time for ING before your intervention here -- many, many thanks.

Is it ‘fill the forum up with rubbish’ day?

    Hi bigg!

I gave you a quick "thanks" because you're taking so much trouble to register so many new IDs on MSE, it seemed churlish not to recognise your labours.

PS: try to resist changing fonts in your "newbie" posts. It's a dead give-away for all those who know you. ;)
  • I did a 3K BACS transfer on Tuesday night, hoping it would get there on Friday, but looking more like next week after reading here.
No problems getting onto KE website tonight, and the amount shows up as a debit on 8th.
Well done ING for sorting all of us KE customers out so quickly. :)
If it's not a bargain, it's not worth buying :D
  • Add me to the list, CHAPS 11am Tuesday

I had my life savings of £150,000 in the Bradford & Bingly but decided to make them safe three months ago by spreading them out to four more banks.

Five banks, four have now gone bust

It has taken me 26 years working in a factory to earn this fully taxed money

I feel the media is treating people like me as risk taking speculators for depositing my savings in banks

If I had borrowed £150,000 on credit cards and personnel loans then blown the lot I would get more sympathy
  • add me to the list! Did a CHAPS transfer on wednesday 8th late afternoon and, whilst it's gone from my KE account, it states that the transfer happened on the 9th.

Nothing in my current account so far.
  • I just dont want people loosing sleep over thier savings. Everyone has a right to be worried but your savings are safe with us, If they want to keep the savings with ING direct thats great :rotfl:

If not they will be free to withdraw thier money.

Just hang in the people we are working as hard as we can. I myself am working 3 hours extra overtime a day to take the calls, (sorts christmas out for me :))

And all the ops team at ING direct are working flat out (they only usually work 9 - 5.30) but a lot are working 24 hours on shifts to get this all sorted.

As I understand it from a meeting today the first payments will start being made and recieved tomorrow (Friday)

  • Valleycommando should have big THANK YOU from all of us for passing on the latest from ING! He should have the "employee of the month" there for taking the initiative to assist here...

I was meaning to abandon my KE account, but with a bit of perspective I am reconsidering this - partly thanks to the info from Valleycommando...

Assuming I get my CHAPS nightmare is sorted out within reasonable time, there is no particular reason why I couldn't stay on with ING.. I'd prefer it over HSBC where my other accounts are.

(However if I have have to keep worrying about my hard earned savings for much longer, then I swear I'll use another account for my savings and it's TOT ZIENS to ING... )
