PAYMENT UPDATE
We completed sending the backlog of payments on Friday 17th October. The majority of these payments have arrived in the destination accounts. However, some customers have contacted us today to let us know that payments have not yet appeared. The funds have been sent and the receiving banks will be processing the payments. These will show in the destination accounts on Monday.


A small number of manual payment instructions are still outstanding and we continue to work to complete these payments. We will post a further update on this page when we are able to confirm timings.
We appreciate your continued patience and assure you that we are working as quickly as we can to resolve the outstanding payment issues.


So maybe Monday then - I will call Nationwide and chase their CHAPS chap or chapess

"Can you help trace my missing £2500 sent by CHAPS 8/10 to Barclays?
It's not coming in Monday as I can see Mondays transactions on my internet banking account.
Could someone at least put a note on the website so we are reassured that you are aware of and looking for at least £3 million missing between Kaupthing and linked accounts?"

I just got the standard " It'll be in your account Monday" email back but they must have had lots of similar ones and we've forced a response! WHOOPEE - Power to the people!!! :T:T

Maybe they were initiated by ING on Friday but too late to be completed by the nominated banks who had all gone home by the time the CHAPS transactions filtered through.

Like thousand of others, I transferred a lot of money out of Kaupthing Edge on 7th October. Despite a reassuring email from the ING Direct CEO, Johan de Wit that all transfers would arrive at their destinations by close of business 17th October, NO MONEY ARRIVED.
And what the hell are 'manual transactions'?

You ring ING's call centre and they treat you like !!!!, saying they 'have no access to KE account details'. Personally I will never ever go near any foreign bank again and as far as I am concerned they are a bunch of lying cheats.

And finally, where is the bloody useless FSA? Why are they not jumping on ING to stop them hanging on to our money.

Oh I think the fact I and many others picked the account covered by UK compensation scheme and didnt have over 50k in it makes us pretty prudent. None of this affects you , so I assume the friends are imaginary and you actually just have no life!!:p

Still waiting for my CHAPS. I'll talk to my bank if no sign of CHAPS by Monday lunch.
