Its nothing to do with noninternet holder.

Its to do with BACS or CHAPS, and the way KE handle them.
KE can do BACS transfers inhouse. They cant od CHAPS inhouse, and use services of KSF. So when a chaps request comes in, they send it and the money, to KSF. Thats why our money left KE and went to KSF, where it is now stuck. BACS, since they do inhouse, the money never left KE.

My worry is that, if I understand this right, all of us who asked for chaps prior to 8, are barking up the wrong tree. I hope I am not right, but we must resurrect this earlier line of thinking.

I'm a lot worried you may be correct in your assumptions, because when I rang KE the other day to make sure my closure request (CHAPS, 7th Oct) was being processed (as I can still see the complete balance in account), they said it had been sent to their "Head Office", as closures have to be dealt with manually. I've run out of stamina now, what with this and Icesave (which I haven't even started to thing about yet!).

Please, please, please can you tell me how to do this? I never want to view any of his stupid opinions again, it's just depressing.

joanie - go to User Control Panel (User CP link at top of forum page, just below your personal 'welcome' message. You can change various settings within the control panel, such as sigs, ignores, etc etc etc... HTH

So ING have final updated the website

    UPDATE: SATURDAY 18TH OCTOBER, 17.25PM

    PAYMENT UPDATE
We completed sending the backlog of payments on Friday 17th October. The majority of these payments have arrived in the destination accounts. However, some customers have contacted us today to let us know that payments have not yet appeared. The funds have been sent and the receiving banks will be processing the payments. These will show in the destination accounts on Monday.
A small number of manual payment instructions are still outstanding and we continue to work to complete these payments. We will post a further update on this page when we are able to confirm timings.
We appreciate your continued patience and assure you that we are working as quickly as we can to resolve the outstanding payment issues.

So maybe Monday then - I will call Nationwide and chase their CHAPS chap or chapess

  • Anybody else not received their CHAPS transfer? I've not received mine from Tuesday 9th (am) . I must be one of the "small number of manual payments" they mention in the update on their website

Picture this: it was late yesterday and had been a long, long day to end a really stressful week. People wanted to go home. I suspect that Our Processing team couldn't face one more batch, so snuck it under their intray for Monday morning CHAPS.

Not necessarily - as I said earlier the nice folk at ING could have been working all night to get the CHAPS transfers out but if nobody at your bank is there to do whatever they need to do then it will not have been completed and not show in your nominated account.

So if nothing has happened by Monday midday then call your bank and get them to check for CHAPS transaction. If nothing then its time to get onto ING as you will be one of the so called few

I think now is the time for ING to come out & specify if there are any issues concerning CHAPS. Surely most of the queries they are now recieving are from savers who initiated this type of transfer................How difficult could this possibly be??

A simple statement telling us that **% of BACS transfers went through on 17th and **% of BACS/CHAPS are scheduled for Monday
