Just logged onto latest update on KE/ING homepage.Well well what a surprise!! Now it says "THE MAJORITY of payments will go through today as opposed to previous bulletin which said ALL!!:mad:

It does seem crazy that BACS have been given priority over CHAPS requests

No, you're right - not an issue for this immediate KE problem, but an issue in terms of ING more broadly.

I woild think seriously about pulling your money out if you already have any with ING, or if you're tempted to keep it with them post KE.

Who the hell knows. The rating agencies all said Iceland was OK.

Waiting for £35K for 11 days now; keeping looking at Nationwide. I've just phoned ING (at least they answer promptly everytime) and was told that the 'end of business day' is 6 p.m. Also told that if I asked for CHAPS (which I did) then it would be CHAPS (and if it had been BACS it would go through as BACS). He had to go up a level to find this out, but sounded confident that all would be well by 6.p.m. Said that if necessary, I could phone later today or at the weekend and they could then look up my account details (the Kaupthing Edge details must have arrived ok at ING). HOpe this might put a few minds at ease. I have an added problem to deal with - the money i'm waiting for is my elderly mother's and I have power of attorney to deal with as well as all the other difficulties... Strewth... never again.

I shouldnt worry about capitalisation etc issues......the dutch government, like uk,france,germany etc.....have all got plans to put capital into their banks........

as for transferring out the remaining money from the now ing accounts, wait till normal service s resumed.....that would be the best course, but you could try phoning them on monday and see what they say....if they say money can be moved out, do it.....after all, all throughout the past week, people have reported here that they were able to pay small sums into their KE accounts!
