Did you withdraw everything? If so they may have added the interest on to your payment in order to close the account. I left £100 in my account and had no interest on my transfer so I'm expecting the interest to be added to my account as usual on 1st Nov.

When you say closure, is that clearing out your a/c so that it shows a zero balance (what i did) or specifically requesting account closure on the phone?

Requesting the closure on the phone, not just reducing the account to a zero balance.
