I am sure we couldn't claim anything. KE is the company we had a contract with and they don't exist anymore. Normally when a company (like ING) acquires another company (like KE) then they acquire all of their assets and liabilities too and therefore we would have been able to sue ING for damages as a result of KE's actions.

However, this is not the case here. If you look carefully at the wording, ING have not acquired KE. "UK Treasury has taken action to protect your savings, transferring all individuals’ UK savings balances from Kaupthing Edge to ING Direct". I am certain the move has been structured in such a way that ING are not picking up any of KE's liabilities (other than owing the KE customers their money.)

We certainly have a claim against KE, who are no longer trading, and one would have to take ones place in the queue for creditors. Maybe also the FSA for not choosing a company better than ING, who would have processed the payments within expected time limits for BACS/CHAPS transfers. I dont know. I am no lawyer. I am sure some lawyer could think all sorts of people to sue. Equally other lawyers would equall defend all these claims, both earning a fee in the process. That is their task, I am not criticiseing any of them.

I'm very surprised that nobody's CHAPS have come through yet at all. I expected them to drip through all day since the banks have to do their "manual" bit once they get them i was told by Nationwide this morning. I can't believe the Nationwide CHAPS team sit and twiddle their thumbs all morning if they are supposedly so busy.
    (Sigh)
Plenty of us BACS people still waiting too :wall: Was hoping to get my BACS by CHAPS maybe as ING told me some of us will be...

Was also told all CHAPS have to be with receiving bank by 1pm from ING for processing.

So why haven't even a few CHAPS been appearing yet?

Just checked my Barclays account and nothing.
As I said earlier, If it is a Bacs ING transfer then it would have shown this morning. Only a Chaps would now arrive into the account between now and 5pm, but I doubt they will do this.
Iam now resigned that I will have to now wait until Monday and have another weekend of restless sleep.

Reminder of the Quote from ING on the 16th October.
In addition to the payments already made, we are now able to confirm that all payments will arrive in their destination bank account by close of business Friday 17 October.
There are a very small number of manual payment instructions which are still being processed and which will take slightly longer.

I like 1000s of others feel let down by ING. Do not promise what you can not achieve. Imagine the €100,000 Dutch compensation scheme if it were conducted in the same manor. No thanks.

    AAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!

I made two transfers - one on 6th (registered n the 7th) and one on the 10th. Neither have hit my Lloyds account.

My friends each have kaupthing accounts and made trasfers after me and both have received their funds this morning (not that I am bitter).

I have been able to stay pretty positive thorugh this but for some reason I am cracking now.

It isnt anything like the kind of sums many of you are talking about but it is all I have and well..... ARRRGGGHHH!

    Thanks.

Understandable. I'm frustrated to think that I may have been mislead.

    First ever post!

Someone asked whether they were putting the small ones thru' first. I can answer that as being NO.

I transferred £1K by BACs Monday (6th) night. As expected it came off the a/c Tues (7th).

No sign of it in my Nationwide A/c yet although others here who transferred about the same time and to Nationwide seem to have got theirs, so it seems random.
